Headaches

Since I dropped my calories and started drinking all the water about 1.5 weeks ago, I have had a headache almost every night before bed. A good friend told me it's because I'm detoxing and that it would go away in a few weeks, I hope so, but I'm also concerned that it might be something more serious. I have also cut way back on caffeine and replaced it with water, and my husband is convinced that the caffeine has something to do with it. Has anyone experienced any of this? Should I be worried or will it go away?

yes, i got headaches when i omitted caffeine. they do go away after a couple of weeks.0

Yep, I would say it may be due to the caffeine, especially if you used to have it every day...0

I have had the same thing when I cut down on caffeine myself. Sometimes it is tension in my neck or back that can cause the headaches. That could be remedied by some stretching exercises.
I also used to get blood pressure headaches but that is another isssue that is long past.0 -
I did when I cut the caffeine out. Your body has a hard time adjusting to not having it. It's just like coming off of nicotine. After having a horrible headache for two days straight I decided to slowly cut back on it so it would be easier for my body to adjust. When I did that no more headaches.0

find a type 2 diabetic friend and check you evening blood sugar you may be dropping too low.0

Probably withdrawl - give it another week, you'll be fine and feel better for doing it.0

Yes. It's awful, but it does go away. It's the caffeine and possibly sugar, if you've reduced your sugar intake as well. Are you going off caffeine for a reason? Or is it just to help you drink all your water? You could try drinking tea for a while with less sugar in it, if that helps. The caffeine levels are much lower than coffee or soda.0

It sounds like you have what they call caffeine withdrawal. I have been having the same problem. I was told to take excedrin for the headache and now their not so bad and they are even almost gone. I hope that you feel better soon, you take care.0

I'm not trying to cut it totally out, I use to drink too much pop/soda, in fact that was ALL I drank. I think one to two glasses a day is fine, just not the more than 2 liters I was drinking in a day. I am glad I cut it at night thought, I don't have to wake up to use the bathroom, just sleep away. I can't do tea as it gives me an irregular heart rate and doesn't get along with my bladder.0

Oh, wow. Cutting out that much soda is a really big deal. Despite the discomfort, I bet you're gonna see a huge pay off. Best of luck! :flowerforyou:0
