I really want to be able to buy a pair of claf length boots but my calfs are too big for the zip to do up in most shoe shops. Does anyone know how i can get smaller calves without getting bigger calf muscles from some exercises?

I have the same issue. I was told that it was a blessing to have super strong/big calves!?! I live in Texas and haven't been able to find cowboy boots that fit.
Since spot training just tones, I don't think it will work without losing the weight. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.0 -
Losing body fat is indeed the only thing that will shrink you. However, you never want to neglect resistance training, as it spares muscle and bone density. You should still be working your legs. They won't grow unless you perform a certain type of training and are in a caloric excess, and even then it wouldn't be too much because you don't have enough testosterone. Muscle is more dense than fat, so it actually takes up less space. If you were to lose some body fat on your calves and gain some muscle, they would still shrink and also become more defined.
And I have always had big legs hehe...even when I lose the fat I'll have around 14 inch calves. But I do that on purpose. :bigsmile:0 -
I have the same issue too, even when I am at my goal weight, my calves are too big to fit comfortably into most boots.
If you find a pair of boots that you love, check with your local shoe repair shop. I have found that some can stretch leather boots to fit.0 -
lane bryant sells boots that have larger calves.
also, if its a soft boot, I shove it to my ankles, zip it, then tug it up as far as possible. of course, I don't know if the slouch boot is still a style. If you love boots maybe have a pair made for you from one of the famous boot places. they do it, and they are made to last. I would google it. you can find most things online now. having short short legs, I go for the ankle boot now.0 -
I have the same issue. I would LOVE knee high boots and wear cute shorts and skirts. I would think cardio to help burn fat. That's what I do along with machine weights to help build lean muscle. I know my legs were alot thinner back in high school so I won't know until I get there. :drinker:0
