Every couple of weeks....

I start to enter a fog. I don't want to keep working out, I just want to curl up and eat cookies. I'm sick of the whole thing, counting, working out, and such. I become drained and restless and bored. I start to tell myself that a few days of eating crap and avoiding the gym won't hurt, that no one but me even notices the change in my body if I'm working out so why bother....all kinds of excuses.
In the past this has always been the precise moment when I fall off the fitness wagon and gain back what I've lost. I also lose sight of the mental benefits of working out, and then I lose that blissed-out, energized feeling over time.
Well, Thank god for MFP, because for the first time I was able to push through this foggy feeling a few weeks ago, and I rebounded stronger than ever.
So here I am, in another emotional plateau. Had a burger last night and now pizza for lunch is calling my name. But I refuse. I am determined to push through it. All of those painful yoga poses and mixed green salads and I'm going to THROW IN THE TOWEL NOW??
I'm mostly putting this here for myself, so I will have to rise to the challenge of making it through this. But I also thought it might help give others who are experiencing similar feeling a boost. Just logging in to MFP is enough sometimes, if you're here but feeling blah, I have your back.
Let's push through together and kick some a**.

This is a GREAT revelation!!!
You CAN push through the fog! Anyone who can hold an uncomfortable yoga pose KNOWS the benefits of enduring temporary discomfort for long term gain
When I start to get bored with my food and fitness plan, I shake it up. I look at the restlessness as my body's way of telling me it's time to: try a new class, try a new food, challenge myself to eat at least ONE meal each day that is not a repeat of any other meal...things like that.
YOU CAN DO THIS!!!

Everyone has the occasional slip. Keep up the good work. Snowed in here and all I want to do is graze. Spending some time going through the boards helps keep my mind off eating.0

Thanks for posting that! I have been snowed in for 3 days and my husband begged for homemade cookies today. Usually I eat so much dough I am sick to my stomach and I was so tempted today and I pushed thru it!! You can do it girl, saddle up, and get back on the "horse"!!!0
