5 days in and going strong...

...although, I feel bloated today and I'm scared to step on the scales. I weighed myself too much in the first few days and was thrilled by the results. But now I'm afraid that if I weigh myself I'll see that it will have gone back up. My weight fluctuates loads...like 1/4 stone in one day sometimes! I realise that I should've weighed myself more than once in a week. So now I am making myself wait until sunday...and I'm planning to measure myself then too.

How does everyone else cope with the weigh-in anxiety?

  • I feel the same way when that time of the month comes around :) Particularly right now as I recently started taking a medication that commonly causes weight gain. Gah! I don't measure myself (yet) but I have no need to because I can see the difference! I weigh myself periodically. I don't allow myself to stress over my weight. As long as we stay active and eat right - we're golden!
  • i think you are def right to limit how often you weigh yourself, although i know it can be too tempting. Try to do it once or twice a week and always at the same time of day as it is normal to fluctuate a few pounds each day. Also take into account if you are feeling bloated that you may go up but don't beat yourself up about it. I always think, just think what you'd be at if you WEREN'T trying hard? Keep at it :)
  • I have a horrible feeling I'm due a period in the next week which could scupper everything : ( Does evryone crave carbs when Flo comes to town?

Thanks for the support : ) xx
  • hi hun i used to be a serial weigher but now only weigh each saturday, i found if i had put on thro the week i would go off plan or if i had lost would think great i can have a treat or 2 or 3 lol so now no sneaky peaking for me, i have gone thro the menopause so i don't have monthlies but i still get the odd week when it feels like i'm having one ? i would say try and stick to weighing once a week for a more accurate guide on what u've lost, good luck losing the lbs x
