Snow wet and ice in Alabama again today... so the hubby wanted Chili. I love it!!!

SO... since I'm on here and trying to track everything I kept a list, added it as a recipe and now I know how much I can eat and how many servings are in the pot, and how to do it the same time twice...I've never been much for measuring things out before.

(Picture the non-measuring type dipping chilly out of one pot and moving it to another with a 1c scooper to count servings!!!)

1.25 lbs Butterball Fresh Ground Turkey (1 package 5 4oz servings)
1 package GV Hot Chili Seasoning Mix
1 can Del Monte Diced Tomatoes w/ Garlic and Onion
1 can Del Monte Diced Tomatoes Zesty Chili Style
1 can GV Tomato Sauce
1 can partially drained GV Great Northern Beans
1 can drained GV Pinto Beans
1 can drained GV Dark Red Kidney Beans
GV=Great Value

Brown Turkey (may have to add some EVOO to brown if very lean)
Drain excess fat
Add Tomato Sauce, Diced Tomatoes, and seasoning mix
Mix until seasoning is well blended
Reduce to med heat once it starts to bubble just a little (don't wait for a full boil)
Add beans
Stir it all together
Give it a taste, now is a good time to add extra spices if you like it hot.
Reduce to low heat once it comes to a slight boil and simmer for 30 mins.

Simmer longer to let flavors get more intense... even better the next day!!

Makes 10 1c servings 229 cals ea
(I ate this today if you wanna peek at my food log and see what other stats it has)

Thank you for posting this recipe, but your food diary is not public so I couldn't see the sodium content.

    Stay warm and safe!

Thank you for the info; however, having over 1000mg of sodium in just one meal is not "friendly" to me. I try to stay below 2000 a day as much as possible.

I will run the recipe in the MFP database using low sodium beans and tomatoes, and see if I get lower numbers. I know that the chili mix is also very salted but I never saw a lower sodium version in the market.
