Hello! Looking for friends with common goals

Moments ago, I cancelled my WW account. I've been a member of WW for 5 years. I lost 65 lbs, found about 40 over the past three years and have been struggling lately. The new WW program is just not working for me. I gained 4 lbs in the past two weeks alone. I'm tired of 'points" and weekly fees! I totally understand the value of keeping track of what I eat, and MFP does a great job of that!

So, I am 42 years old, married with two teenage sons. To reach my goal, I need to lose 75 lbs. In addition to tracking my food intake here on MFP, my plan of attack is to avoid eating foods with added sugar. For me, the weight just doesn't budge unless I exercise, so I am using my elliptical machine 20 minutes 3 or 4 times a week, doing some Leslie Sansone Walk Away the Pounds and a 20 minute Kettlenetics (aka "torture") DVD. I life in western NY, where it is frigid and icy and I can't wait until I can take my walks outside on dry pavement!

I am in this until I reach my goal and could definitey use some supportive friends, who I would be more than happy to help in return! I look forward to getting to know you as we start the journey to better health!

Anne

I have been there!!!! I gave up on WW as well because I could literally eat my points in carbs every day. It was not teaching me much to be honest---it taught me to over indulge in those low point "low-calorie" fancy snacks that none of us really need! I would love to be able to help you!!! If you get a chance, check out my website.

    Good luck!
  • Solid plan, Anne :-)!!! I never personally signed up for WW... but had a feeling that the weekly fees and the points and all that wouldn't work with me and my "motivational needs." That money we're saving off the WW membership is a great excuse to experiment with more fruits and veggies :-)!!!! It's all about reallocation of health funds :-).

    Hi

I am from Oxford and I am hoping to lose about 40lb

I have done SW twice and although it worked for me I put the weight back on and more.

I lost some weight since christmas on my own - but have lost some more the last week.

At first I made the mistake of having too few calories and just eating to target on not really healthy foods. now after reading a few threads I have set my target at 1400 and I am eating between 50-100% of exercise calories. And trying to eat more healthily

add me as a friend if you want
