I've JUST started my weight loss program but this weekend is not only the Super Bowl but the UFC Anderson Silva fight -- which means there will definitely be an endless supply of pizza and beer! How will you all survive this weekend?

Luckily I dislike both of those things. It will however be hard to stay away from the chips and salsa :ohwell:

Workout Saturday and Sunday during the day to earn the extra calories you are going to consume.

I agree. I'm going to a neighbor's for the super bowl and a we're all supposed to bring a dish, so I'm bringing supplies for lettuce wraps. I got the recipe from Cooking Light:

    http://find.myrecipes.com/recipes/recipefinder.dyn?action=displayRecipe&recipe_id=50400000109622

It's healthy and delicious and very easy to make. Plus it's finger food, so what's not to like? lol. You can tweak it any way you want (I add different veggies) or if that's not your kind of meal you can find TONS of awesome ideas on Cooking Light's website. Hope that helps

    GO PACKERS!!!

I'm bringing healthy stuff to the Super bowl party. Fresh fruit and a big variety of raw vegetables - things to fill up on. Then, I’m debating with myself which meat dish to bring. I’m leaning toward lean chili with lots of beans. I’m also considering mini German pizzas - light mayo, spicy mustard and horseradish topped with sauerkraut, turkey corned beef , and a little mozzarella. My friend is baking chicken wings. I’ll try to limit those and the brew. AND, do lots of extra cardio in the morning!

If you aren’t going to a potluck, you could always fill up before you go out.

Get a cracker thin crust pizza light in calories. Drink diet soda or light beer. And tell yourself that skinny tastes better than that snack tray.

Shrimp cocktail, veggies and dip, Special K Cracker chips. I plan on having all of those on hand. Luckily I don't care much for beer.

I have an 11 mile trianing run saturday.
And likely a 3-4 mile easy recovery jog sunday.
I won't hold back on the food or drinks any more or less than normal.
  • I am going to try REALLY hard to get to the gym at 7am Saturday and cardio and strength training for a few hours.
  • I'm taking a 60 min spinning class on Saturday and planning to run on the treadmill on Sunday and then I'm going to let myself indulge a little, but try to go overboard. I weigh myself Monday mornings, so I think that will help me from totally pigging out.

I make 'pizza' on whole wheat pita 'pocket' bread and it's always delicious! I don't know the exact calorie count off hand (recipe's at home), but it is way better than regular pizza. I add a little feta cheese, sun dried tomatoes, garlic slivers, and some reduced fat turkey pepperoni, love it!

Running a 10k on saturday than going to friends for UFC. Which is great because I will be the DD so I won't be drinking and snacking. Sunday I am going to do yardwork before the superbowl. I will be making funnel cakes though, however, I am going to split my funnel cake with the kids. Maybe after the superbowl go for a walk.
