edited September 23 in Introduce Yourself
I'm stopping in to say hello! I joined MFP September 2010...gave the site a 2 week run before the new year. As of January 1st, I went full blast! I'm hooked, I love the site and the results. I'll admit, some days have been a bit frustrating...but overall it's exciting. I have lost 5 pounds so far and I have 30 to go! My initial goal is to drop the 35 pounds, afterward I want to start a new goal to get my body fat around 18-20%. Anyway, it feels great to have more control over what I'm feeding my body. Although I have weight goals, I am also in the process of changing the way I eat...in essence, I'm trying to make healthier food choices. Additionally, I want "working out" and "physical activity" to become a routine part of my life. I enjoy group fitness exercise classes, but when life gets busy the workouts are usually the 1st to go. Nonetheless, 2011 is the year that I will successfully meet my fitness and weight goals. With myfitnesspal, I know I will maintain the new weight.

Please feel free to add me, I can use some positive friends to my list!

Way to go! I became hooked almost right away when I started back in November... Just a few days before my 5 Year Anniversary where I knew we would be going out for dinner... didn't matter. I've had "cheat" days and all but the best part is I have lost a lot of weight in a short time eating normal food... just less. Turns out I was just over-eating...

MFP has been a game changer for me. I can't thank MFP enough :)

    Thanks guys!!!

And I know what you mean about "over-eating" JeepBaja. I like feeling like, "I'm not dieting". :noway: Congrats on 5 years!! Eight months for me and I'm excited about our 1 year anniversary.

Great! I have also joined recently. I really like this site. It is helpful on so many levels! I was also over eating. Portion control was a concept that I really didn't understand...at first my servings looked sooooo small! I was also eating way too much sugar and I had stopped exercising. Now I'm riding again and eating so much healthier. I really didn't know how to eat right. I was programmed to believe what ever new diet fad was hitting the U.S. low carb, low fat, blah, blah, blah. So it took some experimenting and trepidation to be okay with eating certain foods. I have lost 9 lbs and my strength is returning and I feel so much better! Good to you!

Thanks for the post! Congrats on loosing your 9 pounds so far. I am pretty happy about my 5, so I can imagine how you must feel. Getting the portion size under control has been a bit of a challenge for me too. I measure most of my foods and I'm purchasing a scale real soon! =)
