Okay, so I admit. I have drank coke for the longest time..giving it up has been hard.
So, now I don't get caffeine.....wellllI'm tired..

To others out there who were basically addicted to it, like me, what do you do? Ive cut back to about 1 a week. I think that's good for me right now, so I won't have horrible headaches.

I have been drinking more water, which is good. Any thin that you use as a sort of substitution for it?

Green Tea = caffeine, but not a lot. Contains Potassium, antioxidants, zero calories, good for you and allegedly helps with weight loss (depending on which site you google)

You can make a pot of it and chill it, if you prefer.

I take a daily vitamin that has caffeine in them (about the equivalent of 2 cups of coffee is what the label says). A friend of mine drinks the Crystal Light water flavors that have caffeine in them. I tried one that she gave me and they have a pretty good taste.
  • I agree to try drink some tea. They do have caffine. I did some research about tiring. It mentions that if you eat oatmeal, banana, water mellons some other things that will reboot your energy. I have tried the watermellons and banana, they do reboot. But hasnt try the oatmeal. You can alway look for something to replace the caffeine to better healthy reboot energy.

A healthy well-balanced meal plan will usually keep energy levels going at a constant rate.

If you need the caffeine, drink green tea, or coffee if it's an absolute must.

I have a crystal light energy packet. I haven't used it yet. Mainly because I've been so busy today at work I barely had time to breathe. haha.
    Thanks everyone!

I normally excersize everyday, I'm going running after work tonight. I love oatmeal, its nice to know it will give me energy!

I stopped drinking all caffeine over 5 years ago because I was suffering terribly from acid reflux. I was having to take prilosec every day and finally decided I couldn't live like that. Giving up caffeine cured the reflux for me completely. Now, I only drink decaf coffee simply because I love the taste of coffee. To keep my energy up, especially since I exercise a lot, I drink Shakeology. It has several unique superfoods in it that boosts energy levels without caffeine.

it's interesting to note that green tea can have just much or more caffiene in it than coke or other pops. sometimes less and of course it depends on the brand. i mean the obvious choice for what to drink is there nutritionally as it was pointed out, but just don't forget that green tea unless said otherwise does have caffiene in it and it can sometimes be higher than you think.

According to some sites I was looking at, coke (brand name) has about 34 milligrams of caffeine per can and green tea has 50. but another says green tea has 20 mg. So far 34 seems to be the number for coca cola classic.

Most soft drinks are full of rubbish. Is there anything wrong with coffee? I drink black filter coffee without sugar or sweetener, usually 2-3 cups a day, but never after 8pm. It gives the metabolism a boost for a couple of hours, and a smallish cup is about 2 calories

I love green tea! I drink coffee in the morning, and green tea in the afternoon for my pick me up. I also really like Advocare's Spark pink lemonade flavor :)

Not only different brands of green tea have different quantites of caffeine, but the loose leaves have lots more (about double, I think) the amount of potassium than bagged teas. So maybe all the ingredients are intensified by using fresh green tea leaves rather than bags. It's important to note * pour the water before the boil and *only steep for 1-2 minutes. Otherwise you burn the little leaves. :frown:
