Bumping has 2 purposes, one it bumps a topic back to the top of a forum and two a lot of people will bump a topic so that it will appear in their "My Topics" so they can look at it later. ( I was going to bump, now I don't have to because I answered your question )
Oops forgot to say thanks for posting this.0 -

I'm pretty sure you made a mistake on whey protein. You said it was an animal protein, but it is derived from milk though milk is derived from animals too but people don't usually refer to it as animal protein.0

I agree about the poster who said do steel cut oats instead of instant oatmeal. Just had to say that so I could refer to this later under "My Posts". Thanks for the great info!0

Great post! I'm interested.in adding a protein powder before my workouts but I've never tried it. I only weigh 120 and I'm trying to lose 10 pounds; will whey protein powder cause me to gain weight or will it help shed fat into muscle? (Clearly I'm clueless!) Any ideas of what kind to buy would be greatly appreciated!0

Thanks for all the great information.
As an aside, I'd like to say that "sprouted grains" are also great. I'm actually wheat intollerant and can't eat anything with wheat in it, but surprisingly I can eat sprouted wheat products. A popular brand I've seen is Ezekiel (they make great tortillas) and in Canada, Silver Hills bread (Costco sells it in Alberta and BC). Both have been great alternatives to bread with wheat flour and they are very filling - and sooo much better than rice bread (blech!)0
