spacing of workouts

I can't make it to the gym at weekends to to get my goal of 3/4 gym sessions a week I have to pretty much do them consecutively then miss a few days in a row. I imagine the best way would be every other day (giving muscles a chance to recover between sessions, etc) but that's just not an option right now. My question is: how much does it matter that I'm doing it this way rather than spacing it all equally?

Hasn't for me. I go monday-friday for 2.5 hours because I cannot get there on the weekends. Saturday I try to get a Jillian Michaels dvd in and then Sunday I take a break. The only thing I do is walk to vet the paper and a second walk with my dogs for an hour, but I do that every day and its not a fast walk. I have lost a lot and continue to lose inches.0

I'm not sure...I do beleive you should let the muscles re-coup if you're lifting weights. Perhaps everyother day should be cardio if that is the case.0
