Hi,
I am 7 weeks from when I delivered my son. I just started on here 1 week ago, and I am about to start training with my personal trainer. She thinks I should only be consuming 1000 calories a day, but I am concerned that my milk will go down and that my baby will not get enough nourishment. I am so ready to start this training but not sure how many calories I should be burning a day since I am breastfeeding. I've found I've become addicted to this website and am watching my calories so much that I consume way under my daily goal every day. Any suggestions??? thanks
Emi

WOW!!! You should really check with your doc... I think your trainer is probably way off here. I successfully nursed 4 kids and NEVER under 1,200 calories a day - breast milk takes calories and HIGH nutrition. (baby #1 for 12 months, #2 for 18 - she had health issues, baby 3 for 10 months and #4 for 18 months - health issues) If you starve your body, you could stop your milk production all together and depleat necessary stores for you. Watch your water intake too... :drinker:
Just a thought anyway. Blessings!!! :flowerforyou:0 -
I am a breastfeeding mom of a 4 month old and I have done some extensive research on the web. It looks to me that you need an absolute minimum of 1200-1500 cal a day as long as the baby seems to be getting enough food. I started this website 6 weeks agao and have lost 13 lbs. and that is what I stick too, good luck.0

I have to agree -- that seems really low. You should probably contact your doc and get a medical opinion on this diet/workout before you start.0
