question about egg whites

i just seen a recipe that called for egg whites. what does that mean? (yes. im that ignorant when it comes to this stuff)
I mean i know its the egg, minus the yolk. but how do i get that? just drain it?

You can separate the egg or you can buy egg whites in a carton (forgot the name of the most popular brand)0

Crack the egg.....dont put the whole egg in the bowl. Take the egg back and forth between the two shells letting the egg white drop into the bowl but keeping the egg yolk in the shell0

You can either seperate them using the shells or you can buy egg whites pre-packaged! I personally, just buy them in a carton.0
