Newbie looking for friends!

Hi, Im new to this, been tracking on and off for a while but just found the web side of it. Looking for some friends to help motivate me to get fit for my holidays later this year!

    Hi, I also need friends on here. I joined ages ago, but never been motivated enough to follow any sort of plan for more than a day or so! Have tried everything going and always fail! I
    am at my heaviest ever (over 18st!!!) and need to crack this now.
    I have decided to try and stick to a slimfast type thing for a few days before embarking on a more sensible diet long term. Just need to rid myself of my food issues/cravings first. So first day on my very low calorie liquid diet - and am taking it a day at a time.
    Each time I set a weekly/monthly goal, I fail at the first hurdle! So far so god today. Dont want to get in the trap of beating myself up then comfort eating after each failure.
    As I have so much to loose, I want to try and lose a big chunk quickly then move on to something more sensible.
    Just realised its 23wks away from my summer holiday (the first I have booked in years due to my weight!). So really need to get cracking - or I may get harpooned on the beach!!!
    Would love a few more friends on here to keep my motivated!

    Hi Kerry,

    Just read your post and have been in the similar situation as yourself. I am currently following a meal replacement diet where i replace 2 of my meals with shakes and i then enjoy a healthy meal in the evening.

    dieting/healthy eating is so hard isnt it. But give it your best and you will get something out of it

    Thanks Ceri. It is sooooo hard. Just love food! Haha! Thanks for adding me. I am having Slimfast for Brekki and making my own fat free low carolie soups. Trying to keep it under 600cals (thats what lighterlife etc are you see, but I cant afford those!). Will just see how long I can do, then switch to a slimming world type plan.

    I started this plan with my husband 3 weeks agoo and i have lost almost 4 pounds.. i think is a good start and besides im loosing pounds .. im feeling very good with the meal plan! i just eat what i need and its motivating .. i would also to add friends here because i think its nice to have some support from other people :)

    how about just setting some tiny goals - like eating well until lunch time - then because you've done so well - make the next one dinner time! If the day doesn't go so well at least you've have a great start to the day.:smile:
    I find that I have to bargain with myself for the first 3 days then it gets easier.


    For my first week I cut out added fat, all sugar (incl friut) & salt to cut the cravings. After a week I then reintroduced fruit.

    I need to lose about 40lbs.
    I have been doing well, going to the gym 3X a week for 4 weeks now, but I want to start tracking it and be more aware of what I am eating!
    Need a buddy to check in with!

    Welcome! I started MFP about a month ago. I've been logging and losing a little weight, but haven't been doing this side of things. I'm starting to slack off a bit, so hopefully getting some friends for support and accountability will help me stay on track. I added you. Anyone else out there who wants to add me, please do!

    Hi all,

    I have been on here for about a month and this is my first time of looking at message boards, I'd like more friends to motivate me too!!!!

    Had my first baby back in August, was 15st 9lbs (219lbs) after giving birth, went down to 14st 10lbs (206lbs) after eating healthy and exercising but then lost track of dieting over christmas and went back up to 15st 7lbs (217lbs)!!!! Now back to 15st 2lbs and really determined this time but any support from others would be massively appreciated!

    Hope to make some friends soon!
