Yogurt eaters behold:

I just had a conversation about this with a girl at work who was complaining about the sugar content in her Dannon yogurt, so I thought I'd bring it to ye olde forums as well.

I used to eat Yoplait Light and Fit for breakfast, and be starving an hour later. I was then introduced to the wonderful world of Greek Yogurt. (Fage 0% is my fave, 90 calories in the 7 oz container.)

Not only does it hold me over but I feel FULL. I put berries and granola in it usually.

No, it's not as sweet. I started out sweetening it with honey and then gradually weaned myself off, and now I quite enjoy the taste.

Anyway, this stuff is like a night and day from those commercialized sugar-laden yogurts. It packs the most satisfying punch for the lowest calories of any food I've found so far.

Just thought I'd share, in case anyone out there hasn't discovered this gem!

I second 0% Fage - love it with berries, bananas, etc. I use a tad of honey with it as well.

I agree. I've bought it only a couple of times and personally like the texture of it better than regular yogurt. So much creamier

Greek yogurt rocks. Go for the full fat stuff & INDULGE! I don't think I can ever go back to thin, runny yogurt after discovering Fage & Chobani's decadent, pudding-like consistency
  • got to try it

I agree about the Greek yogurts! I'm especially fond of the fat-free Chobani yogurt, with fresh berries, banana, granola and a few raw salt-free walnuts or pecans. That's a breakfast that gets me through the morning. Unfortunately I didn't have it THIS morning and ended up paying for it with a chocolate crash later, lol.
  • The protein in greek yogurt is higher than regular yogurt which helps with that full feeling.

I switched to greek yogurt too and love it. The full feeling is likely because it has TONS more protein than regular yogurt. It really packs a punch.

My favorite is Stonyfield Oikos Blueberry. It's 120 calories and very satisfying!
  • I love Greek yogurt. The best tasting one is Greek God's Honey or Plain non-fat Greek Yogurt. It does have a tad more calories than regular non-fat yogurt but it is more satisfying.

LOL -- I agree! I love Fage full fat version -- it's as good as eating ice cream! Just can't eat too much of it anymore for a snack (and still keep the calories reasonable), so I just bought a 2% this morning, in order to try it. I'm hoping that the 2% isn't terribly tart...

Or some cherries if you like sweet & tart. Honey & cherry (not together) mixed with greek yogurt is fantastically delish!

Greek yogurt is yummy but Dannon does have a diabetic carb and sugar control, it tastes great and has only 2 g sugar:) Stores that carry it, thats the problem out here Meijers and Jewel carry it:)

  • Another good one is KROGER (fred meyer, ralphs, smiths and so on) has a CARB MASTER yogurt...it is store brand, .40 per container (cheap!) and is VERY low sugar, carbs, AND...the one I ate this morning (raspberry) has 12 grams of protein!! It is very yummy...love it. They vary between 60-80 calories. I have yet to try flavored greek yogurt but I think they are kinda spendy compared to what I prefer to spend!
