Almost at your goal weight? Have you gone too far?

Just re-set my goals to gain 5 pounds back. In total, I have lost 87 pounds. My profile picture was taken in early December. I want to get back to that weight. Tracking my foods and exercise on MFP became a way of life for me. I enjoyed "being under my calorie goal," almost every day and I even opened my Diary to friends. It was almost a "high" seeing a modest weight loss every week. Then I started not weighing myself weekly, but once a month. I was pleasantly surprised when I saw that I had dropped down to 133 pounds.

Unfortunately, I now realize that I have gone just a bit too far. I am the first to admit to my mistakes! I had some photos taken this weekend and I did not like what I saw. (See my blog of today if you are interested in learning more.) My wonderful MFP peeps will help me "regroup" and get back to my original goal -- feeling and looking better -- not becoming a frail looking "older gal."

I am wondering if there are others in MFP who feel they may have lost enough weight and are now trying to stabilize or even re-gain a few pounds? This maintenance phase also requires a lot of work and concentration! I will get there, thanks to the great MFP community and program.

  • All your pictures look great. How do you feel? I'm glad to hear you will continue to eat good food. I enjoyed reading your diary when it was open. I hope you feel comfortable doing that again. I think it is one of our best tools. Thanks for all the support you have given me these past many months.
  • as you know i have been eating a little more as i approach my goal. my weight loss always comes in waves anyway, but a couple of weeks ago it was dropping really fast so i made some adjustments to both slow it down and "feed the furnace" since my activity level is so high. sure enough the "pendulum" has swung back up a little but i am okay with that. technically, i still have 2.5 months left to reach the goal i originally set for myself and realistically will reach it in 2-3 weeks. if i lose a little more than goal that will be okay but i definitely plan on eating more and focusing on toning and allowing my skin to catch up once i reach goal. the other factor for me is i usually lose weight naturally as the winter months end anyway. definitely don't want to drop too low. it wouldn't look right on me.
