What are your weight loss tips?

I've been working towards a better healthy lifestyle for the past 11 years and I've found things that have and haven't worked for my body. What are your weight loss tips to share with the MFP community?

    Portion size.
    Low fat.
    Snacking on fruits and veggies.
    Lots of water.
    Still allowing myself a little chocolate every day.
    Changing my mind set.
    Thinking about what I'm eating.
    Exercise.

    Drink water

    have fruits and veggie with every meal even if you don't want to

    net at least 1200 cals It's ok to eat exercise cals back...espically if you feel hungry

    ILearn enough dicpline to cut down on things that are bad for you, coke, pie and cheese puff. But it's ok to have a small serving every once in awhile.

    Find a few exercises you love and switch up your routine.

    I'd love to hear others tips :)
  • big one for me is getting in a workout first thing in the morning BEFORE i eat (only have 2 cups of coffee). I read an article where they performed a study...here ya go

    Portion Control per meal, and Calorie Control per day. That's the number one thing.

    Everything else is ansillary, and may or may not work for you.

    Lots of water
    Halve the carbs
    Double the exercise.


    Dietwise, I've swapped a daily fruit juice for a vegetable or tomato juice, and replaced a daily bag of crisps with a small bag of raw almonds (25 nuts).

    Buy a good pair of shoes to motivate me to go for a walk. If they are the most comfortable shoes then i tend to want to wear them more often = more exercise!

    Buy extra measuring cups & spoons! OMG I'm so sick of running out of them.

    I second that!! Make a trip to the Dollar Store and stock up, they've always got them in stock! That was the one thing that helped me the very most - MEASURE!
