I ride my stationary bike for 13 minutes, I ride 5 miles, at 23-25 mph. is that very vigorous exercise?
sometimes I ride it 14 minutes, ride 5 miles, at 19-23 mph. is that vigorous?
and THEN I ride about 22 minutes minutes, 5 miles, at about 14-17 mph. is that moderate?
* note....
all three exercises are separate throughout the day

This is an example of where a good HRM is useful. Since resistance on a stationary bike is not the same as for a real bike, mileage is not particularly useful. Time and heart rate would be the better parameters to compare effort.0
