running out of snack ideas

With my job, I eat my oatmeal and out the door before 6:40 am! By 10:00 I am starting to get a little hungry and I bring crackers and cheese usually to work with me for a snack and usually soup or salad for lunch, but this cracker thing is getting old and I also realized that it's a 200 calorie or more snack when I feel like I've had nothing! Any ideas?

I like to bring a baggie of one or two cups of dry cereal with me to work. Gets rid of the 'munchies' craving, and if you get a cereal that's healthy then the calorie count isn't too bad.

    Yogurt
Sliced roast beef wrapped around string cheese
    Peanuts or tree nuts
  • i like to pack a hard boiled egg, and fruit or veggies that are cut and in a cute little baggie. I then munch all day long. Hope this helps!
  • Baby carrots dipped in hummus. wonderful together.

I eat applesauce and string cheese. Try and find a lean protein (hard boiled egg, low fat yogurt, light cheese, fat free hot dog etc) to eat along with a fruit. It makes a good snack! And the protein helps to keep you full longer.

If I stick to protein snacks I tend to not get as hungry as quickly as when I eat carbs or fruit...

I've created my own nut and dried fruit mixture and eat 1/4 cup inbetween meals. It's about 150 cal. A boil egg would work also or high protein bars like Balance.

    hope that helps;

    Greek Yogart around 120 cal
Fruit (if you have a small belender you can make a fruit smoothie)
cheese sticks (the one I have is 80 calories)
    nuts
    granola or trail mix
    veggies (carott sticks, celery sticks)
    smoked salmon slices
    deli meat slices

    Hope that helps.

Many people have named some of my go-to snacks:

    -1/2-1 cup of blueberries
    -mozzarella string cheese (low-fat)
    -clementines (cuties)
-planters NUT-rition (south beach diet packs)
    -hummus and pretzels
-1 to 2 hard boiled eggs (I love this w/ string cheese)
-Kashi heart to heart cereal (I usually put 1 cup in a snack baggy)
    -Fiber One original cereal
