I didn't lose any I gained .8lbs. How is this possible? I never went over my calorie count and I actually was under for the most part but only because of my exercise. This is very frustrating!! Can anyone tell me what I have done wrong...

Did you measure yourself? You gain weight as you gain muscle...I think. So don't worry too much about the scale number and just see how the measurements change.0

Hey, I'm not expert, but I looked at your diary . .. are you checking your sugars? you eat a lot of fruit and if I eat too much fruit I go way over sugars.. I tend to keep a real eye on carbs, sat fats and sugars .. they are my 3 enemies lol ... I keep below 10 g of sat fats, 100 g of carbs and keep sugar to a real minimum ...
You will get lots of advice .. stick with it ..0 -
had the same problem myself.although my excersising was non exsistant due to a family member being ill i didnt want to go to the gym not knowing if they would be ill or collaspe on the floor.0

Well it could be down to T.O.M, I know i do normally gain at this time, but you also have 2 remember muscle weighs more than fat,so you could be really toning up. DO NOT GIVE UP, keep up the good work i,m sure u will see results.Hope this helps0

probably nothing wrong - sometimes you build muscle (which burns more fat but weighs more than fat), sometimes your body retains water, sometimes it's a natural fluctuation (which is why weight loss progress is a bit more of a long term thing).
you shouldn't worry about 0.8lbs. Even with fast weight loss you still have days where you go up!
Another thing might be that you are plateuing a little by eating the same food day in and out or doing the same excercise.0 -
Look at your diary again to see if you are eating the right things. Check your sugar levels because I tend to have alot of sugar in my foods and then started to be more careful of what I eat. Make sure you becareful what fruits you eat they have alot of sugar in them like bananna, peach, grapes.
I try not to use my exercise calories in with my day because you tend to eat to much. I do eat 7 times a day but that includes my protein shake and snack in between my meals. Eat lost of chicken breast very good for you.. Veggies are very important. I eat celery and carrots but not in the small bag they have alot of sugar just the plain carrots the long ones.
Sometimes you will gain because of muscle when you exercise and MUSCLE WEIGHTS MORE THEN FAT.. I know I know you probably hear that all the time but its true.. You need to do measurements like I do it shows more in your clothes then you are on the right track..
Hope that helped you out.
Have a great day and DONT GIVE UP HANG IN THERE..

Numerous things could have caused a .8 weight gain.....if you didn't drink enough water, if you weighed in at a different time, if you exercised more than usual, if you were too low on calories, if you were wearing different clothes at weigh in, if you are ovulating or if TOM is here....the list goes on and on of possibilities. Don't get discourage, I'm sure you have done nothing wrong. We all fluctuate in our weights at different times. Hang in there...bet your next weigh in will be a good one!0

I struggle too and it was recommended that I include sodium on my diary so I could monitor it. I was amazed at how much was in my diet which, of course, can lead to water gain.
Make sure you're drinking lots of water and monitor sodium and see if that might help reveal what is holding up your progress.
Above all, don't give up. You're worth the fight!0 -
I was told by my personal trainer that if you add a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice and just one slice of toast to your regular diet daily then you will gain 1lb per week.
Sometimes we think we are eating healthy and in most cases we are but its about how much we eat and as someone has already mentioned it could be the fruit sugar.
I also think (personal opinion) that if you want to lose weigh weekly then you have to eat your regular goal calories but not your excersise calories and you also have to burn at least 3000 cals a week as thats how many it takes to burn a lb of fat.
May i also *kitten* i dont take my own advice! I have done in the past and it works but right now im just being lazy....and eating a lot!0 -
There's several reasons but from what you've said it looks like you might be putting yourself into starvation mode. You should try to be on, slightly under + over you calorie count in the week. If you're always under/not eating your exercise calories then starvation mode will happen and you'll gain.
That being said I don't approve of forcing food down your throat to meet a calorie count. In the end I you just need to keep trying new things and see which work.

thanks for all the great advice...I checked my sugar and the most I have had is 105 but most days I am under 100. I don't eat my exercise calories and I drink plenty of water...sometimes I forget to record it. I check my workout routine daily so it can't be that! i am going to keep at it and I will try to not eat as much fruit!
Thanks0 -
Only the bad fruit that has alot of sugar in it.. I have been eating alot of blackberries and blueberries with splenda and Ive noticed a change in my diet way better then green grapes bananna and pears bad for you good luck0
