you should look into "tast of home" cook books. i have one that has a light and tasty section with some of my favorite foods like cheddar broccoli soup!
as for the pizza look for mozzerella with 2% milk. turkey pepperoni, organic veggies, and make your own sauce with roma tomatoes, oregano, basil, and garlic all blended together. and get you a recipe for whole grain pizza crust. it is freggin delicious!!!0 -
Me too! I just buy the pizza dough at the store and make them with lots of veggies and only alittle sauce. Instead of using a lot of mozzarella cheese, I try using different ones like parm or goat cheese. My favorite one yet was wheat dough, goat cheese, sundried tomatos, and cooked onions. Hope this helps0

I am a big pizza fan. I was thinking about experimenting with seasonings and spices to come up with a good, low sodium pizza sauce. I'd imagine a crust wouldn't be too hard. As it is now I just plan ahead when we make our own pizza and eat other meals accordingly.0

cauliflower crust is supposedly awesome, but I like whole wheat crusts or just mini pizzas on whole wheat english muffins or bagel thins. just make sure the cheese is low fat and used in moderation, some thing for meat toppings.0

I just submitted this recipe to the MFP database! LOL
This is for pizza dip. It has been a HUGE hit at recent parties I've attended.
NEED:
2 cups shredded mozzarella (low moisture, part-skim)
1 container pizza sauce (low sodium, about 1.5 cups)
1 package Philadelphia fat free cream cheese (8 oz)
0.5 package Hormel turkey pepperoni
TO MAKE:
Layer ingredients in medium baking dish as follows- (1st) cream cheese (2) pizza sauce (3) pepperoni (4) mozzarella.
Make sure it is spread evenly. You can top with oregano if desired.
Bake in oven set to 450F for 20 minutes. Serve with bagel chips, french bread, etc.
With New York Style mini bagel crisps (garlic), MFP calculates this recipe as:
8 servings
Calories- 172
Sodium- 768

Fiber- 4
Sugar- 4
WITHOUT bagel chips (dip only):
