Does anyone find Alli and a fiber supplement to be helpful?

  • I've taken Alli before. It helps as long as you really limit your fat intake. If you don't, you will have a foul smelling, oil-like discharge when going to the bathroom.
  • if you go even SLIGHTLY over your suggested fat intake, Alli will make you drip an oily, orange discharge from your *kitten*. i am sorry to be gross but it happened to me and 2 other girls I know. IF you know you will never eat candy, cookies, chips, fries etc again alli will help you lose an extra pound per week but if you know you may go over its not worth it. Being thin is lovely but there is nothing cute about having a load in your pants. The smell is HORRIFFIC and you will live in fear of passing gas because you will never know if it will just be flatulence or a thick oily mess. i wore panty liners every single day I was on alli as i never knew exactly how much fat is too much fat

Never tried Alli but I have taken fiber supplements. They are helpful, depending on what you are trying to do. If you aren't pooping because you aren't eating enough fiber, then they are useful. If you are trying to purge your body because you like to put a lot into it but don't feel like you are pooping enough of it out and you want to see more dramatic numbers when you step on the scale, it works, but shouldn't be done. (That is what I used to do)

Ideally, I guess depending on your age, you shouldn't really need them. Eat more veges and high fiber foods and drink plenty of water and you should be fine. Fresh vege juices, fruits, oatmeal, brown rice, lentils and beans, etc will do the same trick as the fiber supplements with the added benefit of being full of vitamins and stuff that your body wants and needs to function properly.
  • Oh yuck. I think I'd rather lose weight slowly than take Alli, having read Harley's post!

I haven't had greasy food since the new year, got chinese last night, and the way it's tearing up my stomach if using Alli is anything like this, no way!

    Fiber yes, Alli no.

I take a dose of Benefiber every day because otherwise I don't get enough. I also drink a lot of water and that helps too. Plus I get the Benefiber with extra folic acid and B vites because I need those.
