Anyone doing tracy anderson workouts?

It seems to be really hard to find other people who have even heard of her. Regardless if people love/hate her, her method really does work to tighten and shrink up everything. I've been doing her videos for about a month now and have noticed a big change. Anyone else a Tracy fan?

ME ME ME! I am 18days into her 30day method and I love it. I also occasionally hate it around rep 18 :P I haven't found a lot of people that have heard of her either which surprised me.

I really want to but it's not in my budget to buy them at the moment! :( They're on my "someday" list. I've read reviews and done some online webisodes of her arm workouts... they seem like they'd really work, so I want to try the complete versions.

Which workouts are you doing? And do you find it's worth the money?

  • I definitely think they are worth the money:) Honestly, its really weird how they work, can't really explain it, but the best way I guess would be that it sort of just shrinks everything in, if that makes sense?! In her mat workout alone, I burn 450 calories in an hour! Plus they are addicting because the results come quickly:)

I have been doing her mat workout, post pregnancy (even though I've never had a baby lol) and her dance cardio. I just bought her new metamorphosis series but it hasn't come yet, so I'll keep you posted on how that is. My friend recently bought her 30 day method book which seemed like a pretty good deal since it comes with a dvd with some workouts on it as well.

I'm doing her 30day method (a little over halfway done) and it makes a dancer sore :P plus I love how she targets the spots I really want to get in shape. I haven't been following her eating plan and I'm sure that's the only reason I've only lost 7lbs

Im looking at buying some of her stuff, i heard about her thru a J Lo interview on Enews! im going to try to find it cheaper......maybe. for those of you using it already what was your body type and what are your results now?
  • My body type is I'd say pretty small to begin with, Im 5'3 and 133 pounds but have a fair bit of muscle. I've found with her, it doesn't really help me lose weight, just sort of tucks/shrinks everything in. Im still the same weight as I was when I started but my pants size has gone down:) My friend is doing it as well, and she is probably about 5'5 180 pounds and she is seeing fantastic results doing the meta program (same program as Im currently doing....highly, highly recommend it:)

:) Thanks for keeping this thread alive. I ended up buying her Post Pregnancy dvd (even though I've never had a baby!) It had great reviews on amazon.com and is recommended for anyone who wants to do the abdominal toning.

I've done the workout four times so far - and a) it is TOUGH and b) it is WORKING!!!! I agree with your assessment that it "shrinks everything in". Rather rapidly, from what I can see. My arms are looking leaner too.

The only thing is, it truly is a challenge. I decided to call it "rewarding" instead of "hard" and that's helping so far. I'd love to keep up with other TA fans though, so that might help me stay motivated.

Please tell me that it gets easier as you get stronger!!!

Oh, and i"m 5 feet, 4 1/2 inches and when I started the DVD on Sunday I was 136ish... today 133. The weight loss is probably due to this workout and a recent loss of appetite (which is not normal for me).

My regular workouts include running, zumba, all the Jillian DVDs and the occasional pilates workout. I'm amazed at how quickly Tracy's DVD is showing results and I'm considering investing in more b/c i like the idea of lengthening my muscles. Jillian has helped me gain muscle, no question, but I like the idea of longer, leaner muscles. :)
  • I love her post pregnancy workout:) Definitely great for the abs...and it is killer!!

I wouldn't say it gets easier, but the results definitely make me motivated to continue with the workouts. I sort of find them addicting in a weird sort of way!

How high impact is it? I have bad joints in my feet and knees. I'm currently doing the 30 Day Shred, but have had to substitute my mini stepper for JM's cardio because I was already injured once.:grumble:

Have you started metamorphosis yet ? How do you like it?
  • Not gonna lie, her cardio is really high impact but if you have good shoes it should be ok:) Ive limited the dance cardio to every 2nd day and jogging in between since i started having issues with shin splints:( it seems to work better for my shins lol! the muscular structure work isn't high impact at all though!

I LOVE metamorphosis! Don't like the cardio that comes with it but I'm just continuing to do the dance cardio DVDs:)

So I decided I'd really like to get the mat dvd next, but to keep me motivated to use the abs one... I'm going to buy it after I get at least 21 workouts with this DVD in. Isn't 21 the magic habit-forming number? ;) I just did workout 5 or 6 (I'll have to go back and double check in my diary). 15 or 16 left to go! ;)

Just chiming in to say... I did my 8th Tracy workout today - and still, I love it! The only issue I'm having is that I'd prefer more variety (I only have the one DVD). Looking forward to purchasing another one.

Any recommendations on what to invest in next? Mat workout? Dance cardio? I'd love to get Perfect Design or Metamorphosis but that's not in the budget quite yet. Recommendations welcome though! :)
  • Definitely go with the mat workout!! Before I got metamorphosis I was doing the mat workout and dance cardio, and they are still my favorites:) So I'd say definitely go with mat:) I also have the perfect design series and they are definitely my least favorite.

Thanks for the tip. I think I'm going to start following one of her arm routines that was in Shape magazine and fake advantage of the free aspect for a while!! I looked at the meta program and am not quite sure which one I would need... Omni or abcentric. I would have to agree with you that it is weirdly addicting, probably bc results seem quick!

I found her workout videos at my local library. Maybe you can find it at yours too? I really like her original Method Mat, Dance Cardio, and Post Pregnancy videos. Her Method for Beginners and Precision Toning are good too.
