ZUMBA FOR CARDIO. . . .

I have been doing a Zumba class at the gym once a week for a couple months and love it. A couple people have calorie counters and for 50 minutes we are always upwards of 750 for the class average. Does anyone have a way to calculate how many I burn based on height, weight, age . . . I remember there being a formula. Or is there a cheap counter I can buy? The last couple I looked at were around 50 dollars. . . .Help a girl out!! :flowerforyou:

    I only burned 305 in my 45 min Zumba class. I have a good HRM too!!

    I have a Bowflex HRM watch and it was in the $50 range.....I don't think you can find any much cheaper than that. I've been doing Zumba since last July 1-2 per week and I regularly burn between 750-1200 calories per class. Every person is different!

    It depends on how hard you go and your instructor. Some classes I can easily burn 600 cals in a 50 minute session, sometimes it's only 450. Whatever HRM you go with if you get one, make sure it has a chest strap, makes it a little more accurate!

    I searched online and found a formula for cycling. I don't know if this will help, but here you go:

    Take your weight, divide by 50. Multiple this by 70. Then divide this figure into 3500. This is how many hours you will need to cycle over the course of a given time to burn 1 pound of fat. Example. 200lb / 50 = 4. 4 multiplied by 70 = 280, 280 divided into 3500 = approx 12.5 Hours. So if you Ride 1.75 hours every day you would loose about 1lb per week.

    I'm pretty surprised by how low yours was! What kind of HRM do you have?
