I went over on my sugar by 20. So I was playing around with by exercises to see how many calories I would need to burn to get it back to where it was no loner a negative number.
I have to burn 900...NINE HUNDRED...calories JUST to get back to where I have 0 (ZERO) sugar left for the day.
UGHHHHH
To make things clear: im not stressing about the sugar! was just REALLY surprised is all. i have no intentions of trying to work all of that off. just found it interesting that MFP claims it will take 900 calories IF i had wanted to!

why don't you try seeing what is making you go over and see what substitions you can make? You would be surpised where the sugar is coming from. I quit putting sugar in my coffee since there is sugar in the creamer and I'm not giving THAT up good luck and keep up the good work0

If you mean 20 grams of sugar that's only 80 calories.0

i do the same as savvynurse, my sugars are almost always over because of fruit & natural sugars, besides the processed foods i eat. i also am almost always over on fiber & protein, but that's a good thing )
j/w how did you calculate how to burn off your sugar? i've never heard of a calculation for that, just to burn calories... 3500 cals = 1 pound.0 -
Stevia works as a sugar substitute...I actually dont eat sugar at all...most all my carbs are from fruits and veggies...I read all labels b4 i buy food....I wont eat anything with sugar, cane syrup, corn syrup anything.....If you need any advice let me know!0

What you calculated was the additional # of calories you would need to consume to get your already consumed sugar back down to set % allotted to you.
So for 1200 calories you are allotted 24 grams of sugar and for 2100 (1200+900) you would be allotted 44 grams of sugar. (Just making these numbers up, but should be close).
I wouldn't worry about going 20 grams over especially if you consumed any dairy or fruit.0 -

I double my sugar amount almost daily because I eat lots of fruits and dairy. It would have told you you had to exercise that much because when it credits exercise, it spreads it across all the categories (fat, protein and sugar) where your calories come in. I have lost all my weight by being over sugars every day, and never stress over it, because it comes from foods that are good for me. I do try to stay within my overall carb allowance, but as long as I am close, I don't worry if I see a red number. :happy:0
