When measuring foods...do you calculate calories based on food that is packed loosely in a cup or by packing it in?

I had to invest in a kitchen scale and start weighing. I was shocked at the difference in the amounts of measuring cups and weight.0

I weigh my stuff too. Much better calculation. You can get a digital food scale fairly cheap.0

I guess it depends on the food. I have a scale as well but sometimes it's just easier to measure with a cup. I USUALLY just level a loose cup.0 -
I use a scale too. It helps till I can start to 'eyeball' a portion and get it closer to correct.0
