I noticed that bananas and strawberries have lots of sugar. So does milk and juice which I thought were supposed to be good for you. I can't really avoid milk cause I need the calcium. I can't avoid fruits cause their good for you and have vitamin c. Is the sugar in fruit 'good sugar'?

Yes! Think of it as "God's candy." It has plenty of vitamins, minerals, phytotchemicals, etc. It's so good, you can't get it (exactly) replicated in a pill.

Eat fruit! Just don't ONLY eat fruit. Add veggies, protein and healthy fats & enjoy.

The sugar in fruit is no better then the sugar in a chocolate bar. It all turns to glucose and our body uses it the same.

BUT :] we eat fruit because of the fiber and vitamins :] fruit is packed with em!! so dont be scared to eat fruit because of the sugar because you are getting added benefits of wonderful tasting health :D
  • From what I have read unproccessed sugars (such as those in fruits) are less harmful, but I dont remember where I read that.. so I can't say for sure. It is really easy to look up online and its best to rely on factual evidence for things like this since we all seem to have our own opinions
  • I had the exact same question! haha, I hope we both get an answer :)

Skip the juice, it is like an empty calorie with vitamins. Fruit is better since it actually has fiber. Or mix your juice with sparkling water and consume half the amount.
  • It's like you have to eat like a diabetic in order to not get diabetes.. do I need to get stuff that's sugar free?
  • So I almost had strawberry Yoplait Whips yogurt, then i looked at the label and it had 24 grams of sugar. Should I have eaten it still? & Today was the first day I didn't go over on sugar, but i was under on all my vitamins and minerals.
