HI all, I have been using MFP since the first of January, lost 10 lbs in 2 weeks, and now have only lost 1 lb in the last 3 weeks. I have been staying within my calorie allotment, as well as now adding exercise to my routine. Any suggestions or reasons why I can't seem to get past this 10 lb mark?

I had that happen to me. Watch your sodium, increase your water, increase the amount of times you are eating a day and increase your cardio and it will start to fall off again.0

Are you drinking plenty of water?? I started about 5 days ago and I have lost 4 lbs. I definately have to drink plenty of water because my first weigh in was 250 lbs. I am down to 242.0 I also seem to be doing good if I don't eat about 3 hours before i go to bed. If I am hungry before I go to bed, I have one of those 100 cal snacks. BTY, I have not started exercising yet. Which I will be soon, but I am seeing a diffference with just watching what I eat, and drinking plenty of water. Hope this helps!!0

Weight loss always seems to slow down around specific weights. I know in the past, whenever I've lost weight and gotten to a weight that I had been at for a long time in my past, it was really hard to push through that weight. I have one coming up, 220 pounds. You can do it, just don't give up.
Oh, and when I lost my first 10 pounds, it asked if I wanted to recalculate my calorie goals. It lowered them by about 70 calories. Did you do that? As you lose weight, you need fewer calories to sustain yourself.0 -
I have had the same issue. I lost 6 the first week and now haven't lost anythink in 2 weeks. Crossing my fingers for this week's weigh in! I think my thing has been sodium. I only weigh once a week and for the past two weeks I have had a high sodium dinner the night before. As well, for the past two weeks I have given up diet soda. I am wondering if the caffeine deficit has hampered my metabolism a bit. I still have 1 cup of coffee in the morning, I just don't have the soda throughout the day. Any suggestions? Thanks!
Also, I am drinking 64 plus ounces of water a day...religously!0 -
Sometimes you just hit a slow spot.. they happen. Make sure you're logging accurately, getting good nutrition, and plenty of water as others have said. You can also change your calorie goal down 100 calories or so for a week and then bump it back up if you want... playing with the calorie goal helps me but don't go too low.0

Sounds like you've plateaued... You may need to add some variety into your routine. Maybe change your workout, increase the intensity, or add an extra workout routine. Also, if you just started working out give your body some time to adjust. Make sure you are taking in enough water. You should drink a glass of water before you workout, another glass should be finished 30 minutes into your workout, and you should have another glass after you complete your workout. This should be in addition to what you are already drinking per day. You'll see the pounds shed off.... I'm not sure what your eating routine is like.... adding more veggies and increasing your fiber can help. But beware that if you increase your fiber intake make sure you drink extra water. I'd suggest an extra 8oz per 5g-10g of fiber. So if you eat 25g of fiber, drink an additional 20-32oz of water on top of what you normally drink per day.... Hope that helps....=)0
