I just found out that for every minute that you exercise it accounts for 8 calories burned in the range of 150 pound person. I didnt know that. Im in that range so I added mine up and it came out to the right number. You learn something new everyday.. ![:) :)](https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/resources/emoji/smile.png)

I'm wondering then if thats approx 2 cals per 20lb would I at 220lb burn 11 cals a minute???0

It also depends what exercise you are doing.0

I'm around 150 (+2-3) and I tend to burn 10 cals a minute on the elliptical. I biked for 3 hours today (some parts harder than others), and the exercise calculator said I burned 1765 cals. I checked another website and it said 1761. I would venture to say its pretty accurate. Like someone above mentioned, I think it depends what you are doing. But then again, that is why some exercises are labeled as light, moderate, and vigorous.0

It is almost correct. It does depend on the exercise...But it is pretty accurate with alot of the exercises..0
