Cardio exercises - knee free!

Hello all
I seem to have done something to my right knee while overdoing it on a stepper machine, making it a good idea to lay off it for a couple of days until it sorts itself out.
In the meantime, can anyone recommend any cardio activities that don't involve running or stepping or - basically - using my knees?
Grateful for any ideas...

Swimming is a good one, if done with kicking from the hip rather than the knee. Freestyle or backstroke work well for giving the knees a break. I've also been known to lay on my back on the floor and alternate between bicycle kicks and straight-legged flutter kicking. It'll get your heart pumping more than you might expect!0
