I have a question for you all. So I currently weight 145 and am 5'2. I am trying to go down to my pre-preggo weight at 120. To maintain my weight I'll need 1600 calories--sedentary(it varies on several sites)I am trying to lose a pound a week. I am also a nursing mother burning about 500 calories daily and also exercise 30min a day---burning 200 calories. So my question is how much do I need to eat to lose a pound a week?

What does MFP tell you?0

I'm wondering if it is ok for your breastfeeding to try to lose the weight too fast after all the baby is needing nutritious milk. Just wondering since I have no babies of my own. Maybe your Dr or Pedietriton could let you know.0

Well, according to the math, you need 1600 + 500 + 200 = 2300. I think you can probably go a little lower, if you really make your calories nutritious. What I would do is research on a lactate sight and see what experts say about it.
I didn't diet after my first born, at least not intentionally. I breast fed her, and had enough milk for triplets (seriously). I lost all my preg weight +13 more pounds. So I know that a body is capable of producing milk and losing weight in some cases.
I would hate to see you have issues with milk production, though, so I think I would use exercise as the main catalyst to losing weight, and eat those 2300 a day. You can see if you start to lose and keep your milk production strong. If you don't lose, maybe lower it by a 100 calories a week until you do, gauging your milk the entire time.

1,220 Calories / Day to lose a pound a day with any work out in the week.
1,500 Calories / Day working our 7 days a week for 30min.0 -
So to lose a pound a week I
2300-500 =eat 1800 calories a day? I am not going any lower because I don't want to risk a low supply also I eat all my exercise calories and breastfeeding. That is 1800 total.0 -
Oops, sorry! I was thinking that your calories for losing was 1,600. So if you need 1200 a day to lose, then add the 500 for breasting feeding, and then 200 for working out. So that makes a total of 1,900. I think it's a good idea to eat those work out calories like you are planning.0

makes sense. Thanks.0
