Every lady needs to understand how her body works!

It's so important to know how your body works and what it is doing.
I went and got my nails done during my lunch break today. The lady that was doing my nails was asking me if I was married, had kids, etc. I asked her if she was married, had kids, etc. And then something told me to ask her if she's trying for kids even though I know that it can be pretty rude. I wasn't rude though. She said that she has been trying for 5 years. She's from Vietnam (aren't they all? ). Poor thing, I could just hear the heartache in her voice when she was telling me. We talked a lot about it, she had a failed invitro in vietnam and is going to have invitro done again here in the states. I noticed that she wasn't all that educated on how the female body works and asked her if her doctors had her temping to see exactly when she ovulates, how long her luteal phase is, etc. She didn't know anything about this stuff. She said she ovulates on the 14th day of her cycle because that is what her doctor told her. Not every woman ovulates on the 14th day, WTF? So without even temping and crap the doctors are doing invitro?!?! At the very least, they should have had her temping for a few months to see what her cycles are like.
I told her how important it was for her to understand how her body works because not every female is the same. And, just because she gets a period doesn't mean she is ovulating every month and not every woman ovulates on the 14th day. She was telling me about her friend that is about to have a baby and how she is happy for her friend but that she is so sad for herself
I told her I was going to drop off my Taking Charge Of Your Fertility book tomorrow and made her promise me that she would read it and understand how her body is working. She was so happy and said that she was very excited to read it because basically her doctors didn't really give her the time of day. She has a very heavy accent and it takes her a while to understand things if you aren't talking clear and slow. I really hope that she gets pregnant soon, she wants it so bad. I hope the book helps her, even if she doesn't get pregnant after reading it, I hope it helps her understand what her body is doing every month.
Anyways, I felt like sharing with you guys because I feel like I met her for a reason, for some reason. I hope her dreams of being a mommy come true. My heart hurts for her

You are a truely wonderful and caring person. Thank you for being there for her. God put you here for a reason and I am proud to know you (sort of). :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou:0

My kids are 15 years apart (yes 15)
and I can say that it was very easy for me to get pregnant that long ago...
This last pregnancy with my daughter took a year and lots of ovulation tests.
Yes I agree everyone's body is different...and changes over the years too...of course...
I think that is really sweet of you to offer information to her....
I was very sad and depressed that year thinking I wasnt able to have kids anymore and almost got to the point where fertility drugs were looking pretty attractive....
Kids are such a blessing.....cherish them!!!0 -
My husband and I were trying for the past year, until I decided to lose this weight. I would make it to 40 or 50 days, then my body wouldn't take it and my period would start. But I am not really worried about it because we are not really really trying, just sorta trying.
Now my daughter was conceived right after I stopped the shot and was going to be starting the pill. It couldn't have any more perfect timing. Plus it was the first time I ever had wine, and I think we both downed 2 bottles each, and we were snowed in.
Two of my sisters both had hard times conceiving, but they both eventually did it, without any outside help.0 -

You are an angel!
I have always believed that God has certain tasks for us in life. Though it isn't always clear, we tend to walk down the rights paths and help those along the way (and in turn be helped!). You are fabulous and never forget it sweetie!!

It's a sensitive subject for me because my sister went through 4 miscarriages (two at 16 weeks along and two at 6 weeks) and it took her 10 years to have her beautiful kids. I saw her suffer, I saw her cry, I saw her really struggle and she went through hell and back to have those kids.0
