Thank you for the info, dont worry I drink a TON of water, like close to a gallon every day but good looking out! Good idea on the cottage cheese, I havent started phase 1, I was going to the other day, realized we didnt get paid yet, so no extra money to go buy all the stuff I need to start lol, but I am soon! YAY payday lolI haven't read all the posts... but drink TONS of water when doing SBD... My family and I did it a few years ago and I ended up with pyelonephritis (kidney infection) and my mother ended up with kidney stones. It was horrible.
Edited to add: the above medical issues occured DURING THE FIRST TWO WEEKS of the SBD program, when carbs were cut. I just started reading the posts and people keep saying "it's only two weeks". Well in two weeks both my mother and I ended up hospitalized, so yes, it can be serious. Please be cautious when doing a diet regimen like this.
With that said:
Maybe use cottage cheese for snacks and don't get the "low fat" kind?? Not sure what the sugar content is, but my 2% is 80 calories for 1/2 a cup, so maybe if you got regular cottage cheese and ate a cup of it that would increase calories? It is high in protein still....0 -
I'm a vegetarian and started SB a few days ago. I do shift work and worked this weekend, 12 hour shifts so it was fairly easy for me to follow, I know today and tomorrow will be tough because I'm off of work. I was actually trying to find ideas online and came across this post. Anyway, my lunch was a kind of taco salad. I mix Boca crumbles and black beans and add taco seasoning, put it over lettece and add guacamole and a little salsa not a lot of calories but you could add cheese and sour cream which I think are allowed. My snacks were celery and peanut butter and walnuts and a low fat cheese stick. Because of my schedule I only do breakfast, lunch and a couple of snacks on the days I work.
I completely understand what your saying about low calories, how's your energy level? I didn't read all the posts so I'm not sure if that was brought up. If your at least getting 1000 calories a day for the next couple of weeks and your not too sluggish or hungry and feel ok otherwise I'd say you might be fine.
I will let you know if I find any ideas, my concern was more about boredom with what I was eating as I've felt ok and the cake I have sitting in the kitchen for my boyfriend. Good Luck0 -
the only reason I am a little stressed about the cals is because before on the diet I was only working out 3 times a week, now I go to the gym every day for atleast an hour and a half.. lol I guess for the two weeks I can cut back my gym time some or something though. Just watch out, I will prolly be fiesty LOLQuite honestly I wouldn't worry soooo much about counting your calories the first two weeks, so you are under? soooo what. It is a diet that you have said is working for you, so just make sure you are following it, and then when the two weeks are up, you can worry about counting your calories.....
I think it is awesome that you are seeing so much progress from it!
My FAVORITE recipe from that book is the cauliflower mashed potatoes! YUMMMM! I couldn't believe that they tasted sooo much like mashed potatoes yet it was completely made of cauliflower.
the only people who have something negative to say about the SBD are those who have not tried it. Granted different styles of watching what you eat and "dieting" work for different people, but the SBD is such a balanced diet, that not only helps you learn good habits but it was created by doctors to prevent Heart Problems, that is the number one killer of women in the united states right now. And the great thing about it is this, once you have completed the diet and lost all your weight, you can modify it just a tad and keep it as a healthy life style, because that is what it is! A Life style change, not a DIET.
Yeah I would only push your work outs as hard as you can without getting dizzy. If you aren't getting dizzy then I would say you are fine.0
