and I actually like them!
I let them kinda soak in with the juice from my moms beef and broccoli, and am eating them with that, and they're good!!!
I'm so excited to discover I like them.

out of curiosity, are they the tofu shirataki noodles or regular shirataki noodles?? I haven't been able to find the tofu kind so if you happen to know where I can get them I'd be very grateful. But if the regular one's are good that's great to know too! )0

I only found them at a store in Austin called Sprouts... which I believe is a more specialty store focusing in organic foods, gluten-free foods etc.0 -

Shanbuffy - I found them at an Asian food market we have town, that I go to all the time, but I've heard Target has them? I've never looked but, someone on here once said they do.
Pauladavies86 - These are regular, but the Asian food market in town had both kinds. Next time, I'm going to get the Tofu ones to see how much different they taste.
Sorry I can't be much help, since it's not a chain place, just a local family-owned Asian market.0 -
I've found them in Asian markets, but I thought they had to much of a fishy like smell. I order mine from www.miriclenoodles.com. Most have a year shelf life.0

I found them (the regular kind) in the Asian section of my grocery store. (I'm a military wife so I shop at the commissary.) Haven't had any luck finding the tofu kind. They come packed in water... it's like a squishy see-through bag so you can see the noodle suspended in the water.0

The Meijer store here (similar to a Wal-Mart) carries them - located in the produce refrigerated section where tofu, veggie meats and cheeses, egg roll wrappers and bean sprouts are.0 -

I just rinsed them off in warm water for like a minute, and that got rid of the fishy smell.0 -
Regular shirataki noodles have a slightly different texture than the tofu ones. I feel it's a little chewier (though the tofu ones are fairly chewy too). And the regular ones have fewer calories, but it's a difference per serving of like 20 or 40 or something (it's been a while since I've had any), so it's not a huge deal. To me they are interchangeable--if you like one, you'll probably like the other. (I don't really like either personally! )
I find Shirataki noodles at health food and organic stores, and also at Asian markets a lot of the time. They may be in your regular grocery too if it has an organic/health food section.0 -
thanks everyone!! I'll hunt them down at the asian market in town here!!0

Dumb question. What are shirataki noodles?
That"s not a dumb question at all, a lot of people havent heard of them. Shirataki noodles are a noodle made from the konjak yam flour, it's a mountian yam. The flour has no calories so the noodles are calorie free. Asian countries have been making noodles like these for awhile. Some companies add tofu to the noodles, which alters the texture and adds a few calories and some protien. Both kinds are sold in a bag with with water. The noodles them selves are tasteless.0 -
i got tofu shirataki noodles from ralph's. it's near the tofu and vegetarian section. i haven't tried cooking with it, what are some recipes that you guys recommend?0
