I've been on MFP for 7 days. I will be doing a weight in tomorrow morning and am already nervous about it. I picked the setting to lose 2 pounds a week and am hoping I lost at least that.

For those who have stayed on track on their calorie net, did you lose the pounds you wanted each week? I'm trying to be as realistic as possible and have expectations that will not disspoint me.

Thanks for any answers or feedbacks.

I started on Jan. 10th. I have lost 12 lbs so far. The first week I lost 6 lbs, then it went down from there. There was 1 week where I didn't lose anything and I looked back at my food diary and noticed I went over on my fat and sugar by alot for several days that week. You will probably have a good weigh in tomorrow. Good luck.
  • i have come to the fact that you will get (lose) depending what you do. i wear a hrm all day track food and the 3500 cal per lb is about dead on for me. if you cheat the scale will show it. if you want to make it go down work work and work some more.
    hope this helps
  • I have been doing this SERIOUSLY for only about 6weeks and I've lost 12lbs so far....I guess that equals 2 lbs per week. BUT I am different in that I am too anxious to weigh myself weekly. I did so for a while and on one of my weigh ins I gained 2 lbs back. That's the only reason I no longer do weekly weigh ins. IT SCARES ME TOO MUCH. BUT I do believe in it, I think the good thing about me having that scare is that, it helped me to do better so that the next time I did weigh in I lost 4 lbs which meant I took off the 2 lb gain along with an additional 2 lbs. So long story short, be persistent, consistent and NEVER GIVE UP. I am a beginner too, but look through the pages of some of the MFP Veterans and you will see that we both have a lot to look forward to. GOOD LUCK!!!!

Good luck to you, I didnt weigh in for a whole month. I started around Jan 6th my first weigh in was on Feb 3rd I lost 10lbs. I weighed in today and lost another 6lbs. Everyone one is different. You will have good weeks and bad weeks. But if you keep track of your calories and be conscience of what you are eating it will eventually come off. Dont have high expectation because if you do you will get discouraged. Any loss is good just remember that.(note to self)..lol...Good luck in you weight loss journey, I wish you well.

Weigh yourself in the morning before you've eaten and after you use the restroom. From what I've heard from other people, that works the best. I don't have a scale so I can't vouch for that myself. You might not have a fantastic loss the first weigh-in you do, but you made the choice to be healthy and happy, and to do it with like-minded people. I think that's a better victory :flowerforyou:

    Best wishes for tomorrow!
  • Take your measurements - they mean way more than the number on the scale. Try not to stress out about it. That will only raise your cortisol levels and affects things. Also, make sure you get a full night's rest, go to the bathroom, and get naked on the scale first thing in the morning. If you've been eating well and exercising, then I'll say congratulations to you, because the number doesn't mean much.
  • Whoo! I've lost 6 pounds since i started MFP! I know not to expect the same amount every week. I'm expecting at least 1-2. It's off to a good start :-D

Great job! Keep at it...I am not always consistant on my weight loss. Some weeks I may drop 3-4 pounds and other weeks flatline or half a pound lost. I just keep at it and stay diligent about measuring and weighing everything I eat to keep myself honest!
