    :noway:

    Please don't. :flowerforyou:

It's just extreme calorie deprivation. Anyone can lose by replacing two real meals with two crummy bowls of cereal. The cereal isn't even nutritionally impressive. Their protein water has more sugar than protein, as do all of their bars. It's just a sugary mess driven by marketing!

Be nice to your body, and eat a balanced diet.

I've thought about doing it but I need a more filling meal for lunch.

Attempted it for about 5 days, got sick of cornflakes:tongue:
  • I tried as well, but learned quick that it wasn't a good way to go. I was starving and felt like crap.

and plus I find the girl in those commercial to be way tooo skinny anyways. When she turns sideways you can hardly see her. Just skin and bones and what kind of message is that of Special K to promote.

it's difficult. specially cause that cereal is so tasty!! its easy to have a big bowlful as a snack. plus they promote that in their commercials!

it's all simple carbs. your body is not getting anything from it.

i imagine slimfast would work better.

Really, Slimfast isn't any better. I suppose the 'Optima' would be the lesser of all the evils, but those are just glorified milkshakes and candy bars. Tons of sugar, little protein, and some sugar alcohols thrown in to bring the sugar down by 8 or so grams. Plus they're about the size of a wimpy chocolate bar and low in fiber, so they're not filling.

Stick with real food, it's so tasty and doesn't feel like Play-Doh when you take a bite!
  • thanks for everything. I won't try the special k plan.

Just remember-what is going to happen whey you stop eating it and you start eating regular food again. It is portion control, exercise and healthy choices.

And that's just the thing. SOmething like that you will quit because it's not a "way fo life".
Songbyrdsweet has been a wealth of information for me and I swear I feel so much freedom in eating EVERYTHING. Not just carbs, not just protein, fat is not the enemy... and I enjoy things I like!!! I know I can actually do this for the rest of my life! Not just for a few weeks or a few months!

I've been doing the special k diet cos it fits into my life. I'm a teacher and find it difficult to have time in the mornings to make a balanced meal, an so i used to either have crappy snacks at lunch or full cooked school meals. I've found that i haven't been hungry at all and i've already started to loose weight. I eat properly in the evening and have now (after the two weeks) started to eat "normally" at the weekends. As long as you don't let it get out of hand i don't see it as a bit of a shock treatment to the system but i agree special is not a way of life but as a quick fix lunch, i love it! xx

i didnt do the diet but i do love the protein version special K, it is yummy i have it as a snack sometimes, i could never eat just a bowl of cereal 2 times a day and a sensible dinner, i would pig out at dinner time from no calories earlier in the day.

Songbird is SO smart. I have followed all the advice the members have given me, and I am already seeing and feeling success!!!! I tried on some clothes this morning and I have lost one size already. I cannot tell you how happy it makes me to know that this is a manageable do-able plan that really works! I also tried the special K thing inthe past, I never made it two weeks and I lost nothing. I just got really sick of the cereal. (And I don't know what they are trying to pull, but that is NOT chocolate in the "chocolate" flavor)

You can eat so well while sticking to the guidelines, there is no need for drastic measures.

Hooray for songbird and all the other members who give such sound advice!!!!
