Hunger at bedtime

My biggest problem is I am always very hunger at bedtime. I try not to eat but most nights I can't sleep until I stop the hunger growls. Then I get mad at myself because I know eating at bedtime is really bad. How can I stop being so hunger late at night? I have tried drinking a lot of water (just have to get up many times to pee) and still I crave food. I need some help please! 8-}

be sure that your calories are healthy calories and that you are eating every 2-3 hours each time consisting of carbs and lean protein--this should help level out blood sugar levels. It is the rise and spike in blood sugar levels that makes us hungry and crave food. If you eat sugar, you will crave it. Try to concentrate on healthy lean proteins, lots of veggies, and some whole grains. Stay away from anything packaged or processed. It really will make a huge difference.0

Eat a whole cucumber before bed. It's low in calories, high in water & fiber, and has just a touch of protein to help curb hunger.0

I recently saw on a weight loss programme something called night eating syndrome.

It certainly explained a lot to me about my habits. It's worth checking out.
I try to keep some really healthy filling stuff ready and prepared for the night.0 -
this is a problem for me too.
I started spacing my meals better, soI was having dinner slightly later than before and am less hungry at bedtime. I think eating right before bed is bad too but if you eat something smallish, nutritious and easy to digest its apparently not to bad...for me good choices for later night snacks have been like half a banana or a dannon light and fit yogurt, something yummy but soft or smooth and not heavy.0 -
If you like cottage cheese, a serving of that about 30 before bedtime is a very healthy snack. The protein is released slowly which is great for at night because you won't be getting up in the middle of the night to eat(as most of us don't!). Also, try moving dinner 15-20 minutes later than you are now, that could make enough of a difference to not need anything before bed.1

here are some silly sounding things that i've tried that actually work to cure the late-night munchies.
1. slowing eating a hand full of pumpkin seeds
2. slowing eating 1/2 cup of raw oatmeal
3. chewing on sugar-free gum
4. slowly chewing a carrot
5. Slowly drinking a sobe lifewater 0 calorie drink
6. getting totally obsessed with a computer game that makes you forget about hunger because it's so addictive
7. watching a show that makes you laugh a lot (it's kind of a distraction for the munchies)0 -
