Pregnancy Workout Videos

Options
I am 8 weeks pregnant, and I would like to find some good workout videos for pregnancy. Pretty much all of the videos I have tried treat pregnant women like they are dying. Yes, we have to take it easier, but not as much as most people think. I am used to videos like 30 Day Shred, Banish Fat Boost Metabolism, and that sort of stuff. So I want something with some real work, but definitely pregnancy-friendly (these are not recommended for pregnant women). Any suggestions? Or good, recommended ways to modifying other workout videos to make them pregnancy friendly?

when my hubby and i started considering when to start our family (still waiting :( ....)my doctor said that up until about 3 months i can do ab work outs and if i've been working out before i should be able to safely continue as i was until balance becomes an issue. if you're really worried ask your doc at the next visit.

I am definitely still exercising, but I was told that anything that leaves you breathless, or if you can't carry on a conversation while exercising, is too much while you are pregnant. So that does rule out most Jillian Michaels videos, but I can still do a lot of other stuff. It would just be nice to have a video tailored to pregnant women. If I can't find any I will just use my best judgment and modify as needed with my other videos. I will also be able to run outside once it warms up again, so I guess I won't need videos as much then.

your body adjusts and compensates for pregnancy as you know so I can say that my nursing textbooks haven't said that but if you have any doubts ask your doctor. I know there are pregnant marathon runners that have been running before their pregnancy and will continue to until their balance is thrown off. your body compensates well for pregnancy and the biggest thing is listen to it. Don't get light headed and adjust your work outs as your body changes

Nice to find another pregnant mom out there. I am 12 weeks along with my fourth child, so glad I found this site since with my age and this many kids it gets harder to lose the weight it seems. I joined MFP to help me watch what I eat throughout pregnancy and to motivate me to get on the treadmill. I also will check out the links posted for other prenatal workouts.

You should try the Pregnancy Fit Kit - that's what I use. It's a prenatal / postpartum exercise program that comes complete with all the necessary (and comfortable) workout accessories. My friend recommended it to me and it is awesome! Their website is http://www.PregnancyFitKit.com - Good luck!
