Walking; will i see results?

I hate my legs. i have saggy knees and cellulitey (if thats a word) thighs, and i would like to get down and dirty with my man without looking at my legs and feeling embarrassed!

SO...im starting to take my dog for a walk an hour a day, and also slip in a bike ride for 20 minutes or so. Does anyone have a clue as to when i might start seeing my legs toning up a bit?

would really like some motivation here! :)

    PILATES! they are amazing. you'll see results in about 2-3 weeks if you do it 3 times per week. i buy the "home DVD's" at Target with Ana Caban. they really do work.

  • If you eat healthy (eat lots of plants and animals) then YES! you will see results.

    I've been walking regularly since august. It only took a few weeks to see a noticeable difference in my legs, both upper and lower. But, I'm a guy and have never carried much extra weight there anyway. They did slim down some, but gaining a lot of definition is the exciting part. I walk in a park with a lot of hills and that helps a lot too.

    OH YES YOU WILL...
    i walk 1/2 even 3 times a day in the summer! 2.2 miles each time,you burn quite a few cals and yes the legs are shrinking too!
    start slowly and after a while get some fast music and move on o fast walking then power walking! oh yeh
  • Brilliant! thanks for the advice guys! charging the ipod now for my walk! (also, my dog is very fat so it'll help her to!)

    I don't know how long it would take to tone your legs up walking but I'm sure your man loves you whether you have 'cellulitey' legs or not! And you should learn to love yourself whatever you look like. Only you are in charge of your feelings, so feel good about yourself.........

    Yeah he does love me for who i am, and i do feel good about myself, but this is a fitness website, and if we all had the attitude to love ourselves whatever we looked like...i guess MFP would be outta business, lol!
