Hi xbabeykayx
If you're new to the gym, the best thing to do is experiment with everything your gym has to offer. Maybe start with 10 minutes on the treadmill, 10 minutes on the cycles, 10 minutes on the cross trainer.
Maybe you could do some excercises with free weights too?
What excercise equipment do you have to hand?0 -
Hi - Do they have any classes? I usually do a couple of 1 hour classes during the week. Of course you could just use the machines - probably the treadmill, elliptical and exercise bike would burn the most calories - Good luck on your weight loss journey0

Yeah i have been doing 10 minutes of the tredmill, crosstrainer and the bike then i usually go onto using the weight machienes, reps of 20 a break then another 20.. :)x0 -
yahoo voted Kickboxing as the #1 form of calorie burn and overall exercise
see if they offer a kickboxing class.0 -
I prefer the group fitness classes. I take Zumba and Power Pump. Zumba is extremely fun and Power Pump does the firming I want.0

That sound like a fantastic work out. I think you should definitely keep going with what you're doing and you will soon see the benefits! If you feel you can do more, why not challenge yourself? For example, see if you can go an extra minute on each of the excercises. Enjoy what you're doing :-)0 -
Hi
I'm a fitness instructor. What you're doing sounds fine but here's a tip for working on the weights. Mix the weight exercises up so that you do one for arms, then legs, then arms etc and pop in your ab exercises too. This makes the heart work harder to get the blood (and oxygen) to the place its needed most so you burn more calories. Make sure you're working hard enough on the weights too. If you can do 20 reps easily then you probably need to go up a weight and bring down your reps to 10.
Good luck!0 -
Just a quick thought BabeyKay, if you have joined a Gym there should be instructors there, They will be qualified and will have the time to show you exactly what exercises will do what your asking!! It is their job after all lol.
Let them earn their money, you are pating for it after all !!!!
Have Fun ;-)0
