I started C25K week 1 yesterday and was wondering if anyone else is doing this program! Or looking to start the program. I'd love to hear feedback about this program. I would also LOVE if anyone would like to join me in kicking the treadmill's BUTT! Please feel free to friend me :)

  • I'm on week 2 this week. Did day one yesterday...so far it's kicked my butt...hoping to change that soon! Good luck to us!!! Do you have a 5k you are planning for or are you just wanting to be able to run?

good luck, im half way through week 4 and my knees are beginning to hurt loads.

you might find week 1 and 2 easy but dont skip it!
  • I usually don't post at all on here, but this one caught my eye since I started running a couple of months ago. I used C25K and it is a great program to get you from not running at all to completing a 5k. It was really easy to follow and takes a nice gradual approach to ramp you up to run for longer periods of time. I completed a 5k in Jan and 14k this past weekend (used B210K for that). I would also recommend doing the running outside as much as you can and doing some reading on sites like runnersworld.com on some beginners tips on running, shoes, diet, etc.
  • I wanted to start last week, but didn't so I would love to join you! I planned on doing Tue/Thur/Sat anyway so it works out perfectly to start week 1 today and join you. I think it's nice having groups like this to motivate each other and hold each other accountable. I will be starting this evening and will post after I do. :) I will send you a friend request!
  • Well week 1 has def. not been easy for me! I don't have a 5K set but would love to do one this spring/summer. I tried this program OUTSIDE in December. And let's just say, it wasn't pretty :) I moved to Chicago, from Florida, this past October. I had a really hard time running in the cold. As it warms up, I'll try outside again. Thank you for all your suggestions!

I completed this in Sept. and it seems hard but the more you do it the more you can't wait to run again even though every time it kicks your butt! I can't wait until it gets nice again here in Ohio so I can get out and run.

DO THE PROGRAM! IT IS SOOOO WORTH IT!
  • Loaded the C25K App on my phone last night! Day 1 tomorrow =)

I'm on week 7! Keep it up, it does get easier. Week 1 was so hard, and now I'm doing 25 minutes no problem. Remember, slow and steady: if it feels too hard, slow down! You can work on speed later.

I love the iPhone app: makes it so easy to time the intervals in the early weeks. Now I turn up the volume and put it in my pocket for longer runs so I get the "5 minutes left, 2 minutes, 1 minute" alerts which keeps me from constantly checking the time.
