Help!! I'm slipping!!

AAAGGHHH!! Help!! For the past few days I've been slowly slipping back into my old ways of grazing all day with not-so-great food choices. I think it started on Friday when I had to put my cat to sleep. I had wine in the evening (i was meant to be laying off all booze until the end of Feb) and since then i've not been able to pull myself back on track. I've not had any more booze, so that's not the issue, it's just the need to eat all the time! My meals aren't really filling me up for very long so I think i need to sort that out - maybe add more protein and load up my plate with salad or something?
I'm at the gym 5 times a week but if i'm not watching my diet, or at least slipping back again, i'm not going to get the results i'm so desperately after! I've only lost 6lbs since enrolling on MFP, but i have been hovering between 17.5 st and 17.10 st more or less on a weekly basis!! It's driving me BONKERS!!
Someone please PLEASE help me get back on track! I was just SOOO focussed when I joined up and now that i'm feeling a bit low (and it's TOM) my willpower is slowing diminishing! Any help would be fabulous, thank you!

it sounds to me that you an emotional eater. you have to stop that or you will be worse you dont want to gain all the weight you lost back. when you want to eat do something else instead if you need to talk message me im here to read (listen).0

Girl don't give up!! You will get out of this. I have been grazing myself lately and have good days and bad days. Nothing that has added the 10 pounds I took off in the last few months but it makes me nervous too.
Know that you are not alone! We all struggle with this. TOM is worse for me too. I just want to eat all day and can't see to stay satisified and maybe that is just because of TOM. Just try to sick with healthier snacking options but don't beat yourself up. If once TOM leaves you still are struggling we need an intervention (LOL).
Lets do it together. We can get back on track.
Are you working out? Maybe you need to incorporate some excercise into your routine or kick it up if you do.
YOU ARE WORTH IT!!!! :flowerforyou:0 -
Breath, long deep breaths before you pick something up, it's called Emotional Eating, spend a few minutes thinking about the real need you want satisfied, and breath through it.0

Focus on why you are doing this. I find that if I remind myself of the goal (fitting in my bathing suit). I look at what I am tempted by and know its not worth it. You can do it!0

i'm so sorry about your cat! i had to do that in september and i was a wreck!! my diet and exercise went straight out the window for a month. but, i wish that i hadn't drowned my sadness in wine and food. it feels terrible putting a beloved pet to sleep. but when i stepped on the scale and saw the higher numbers it didn't make the death of my cat any easier to bear.
when you feel like eating 'just to eat' get up and get out of the room. go for a walk outside. call a friend and hang out. flip through a magazine. do anything to distract yourself from mindless emotional eating.
Good luck! Don't give up!0 -

I think i am deffo an emotional eater! The funny (!) thing is, if i'm absolutely devastated or severely stressed, i dont want to eat but when i am getting better emotionally, that's when i tend to raid the cupboards/fridge. Thanx for the offer of support too. Much appreciated.Girl don't give up!! You will get out of this. I have been grazing myself lately and have good days and bad days. I'm glad it's not just me then!! I am exercising - i do 7 or 8 classes a week but obviously all my good work is being counteracted by my food intake. I DO want to get back on track! I have so been enjoying buying the next size down in clothes!!Breath, long deep breaths before you pick something up, it's called Emotional Eating, spend a few minutes thinking about the real need you want satisfied, and breath through it.
See that's the thing, I think sometimes i eat to punish myself for something or other, in this instance the death of my cat (despite me doing everything i could have possibly done for her!).Focus on why you are doing this. Thanx, I really must remember WHY I am on this journey - for ME and for my daughter and partner!i'm so sorry about your cat! i had to do that in september and i was a wreck!! my diet and exercise went straight out the window for a month. but, i wish that i hadn't drowned my sadness in wine and food. it feels terrible putting a beloved pet to sleep. but when i stepped on the scale and saw the higher numbers it didn't make the death of my cat any easier to bear.

Thanx so much. It IS horrible isn't it. My partner was in bits too. You are right about it not feeling any better just because i've started to stuff my face again. I guess it's just guilt making me punish myself by eating.....
I've just bought myself some new electronic scales so i'll be buggered if i'm giving up now!!
Thanx for the pep talk everyone!! :flowerforyou:0
