Starting my third week of a plateau... ERRRFFF

When I first joined MFP the weight seemed to just roll off ... about 2lbs a week..... I have lost a total of 12 lbs so far but I havent lost anything in the last 2 weeks and now I am starting my third week. I have been eating between 1400 and 1700 calories and exercising like I should about 3 to 4 times a week. i have changed up my exercise program (I was using the Biggest Loser Dvds, now Im doing swiss ball core training + walking) and I have even started eating more fish but my weight is still the same. I am grateful that i have at least maintained my weight loss but I am quite discouraged about not seeing any results in the #'s. I did measure myself this morning and I did lose 2 inches off of my hips but that is it. I know I am gaining muscle but shouldnt I have seen some weight loss by now?? I have at least 30 more lbs to go before I am considered a healthy weight... Im am looking for any suggestions or even just some encouragement.... I dont want to give up.... I want to be healthy..... all this talk about starvation mode on here is quite frightening and I feel like I am going about all of this the right way.... what do you all think??

know the feeling!
i am in the 3rd week of a non losing stint also and my god its annoying!
i have been told to drink plenty of water and be careful with cals you dont realise your having e.g. mints, chewing gum, tea etc
keep up the good work though, you may have a big loss coming just around the corner!
good luck0 -
Watching Biggest Looser and Loosing it with Jillian I have head Jillian say do what you hate when you hit a plateau. If you do the same exercise every night you are exercising the muscles that you have already built and toned there for not tearing down muscle. Do something totally different. Try jump roping or hula hooping. When I get sick of the gym I swim, or ice skate. I'm so excited for the snow to melt because I will be able to get on my bike soon.
Try something new/different.0 -

Keep your focus on your weight management but add a lot of living in between. Though I am older I am at a plateau, keep posting my exercise, and try to make the best food choices. You are doing great, adjusting, and adjusting again. Your 2" loss from your hips is GREAT! You will be surprised when all of a sudden you shed five pounds. Little steps, little steps. You might consider journaling adding the beauty you found in each day and/or creating a vision board of a travel destination or a low-cost remodel in your home to celebrate your weight loss and use more physical energy to feel and be healthy. Thanks for sharing our journey.0

Don't give up....I just went through a plateau and it lasted between 3-4 weeks. Then all of a sudden, bam, I started losing again! It is frustrating. Just think, if you did give up, you would of gained and you didn't, that is HUGE! Stay positive and keep working hard. Losing 2 inches is phenomenal....celebrate that. Try not to stress or think about it too much and when you least expect it, you will see it. Keep on truckin'!0
