I have a very sedentary lifestyle and would like to change by starting to walk 5 miles a day. I need a reliable pedometer to help me keep track. I would prefer to have one that I can enter my height, weight, and gender. I would like to be able to measure mileage and calories burned if possible. Does anyone know of a pedometer that can do all of this?

My husband and I both have the older version of this one... and we LOVE it!

The batteries seem to last a long time too.. it also keeps a 7 day memory, so you can always go back and compare kcals or mileage to up to 7 days previous.

Nike has an app with the Ipod and you buy this little transmitter that goes on your shoe... it will track distance, calories, time etc. if you have an ipod.

Otherwise I have not found an accurate Pedometer that works well.

Use your smart phone if you have one, this is by far the cheapest alternative; plus you can download some really great software with GPS features that will allow you to track everything (time, distance, calories, etc).

Here's the one that I have...

My only issue with it is that if I wear it all day, it records the distance for all day... it doesn't separate it out so that I can see my distance for only exercise. Now I only wear it while I run so that I can see my distance. Otherwise, I love it.

This is the one I have, too. I've had it for a year and it works great. The battery that came with it lasted about 7 months, so I figure maybe having to replace the batteries (they are cheap) twice a year. I wear it everyday and love it.

I just got a fitbit. It tracks more than just steps. I found a $10.00 off coupon from 24 hr fitmess. I got it for $89.01. So far, it is pretty accurate. I got it to go with my new Heart Rate Monitor - Polar FT40.
