Im trying to lose weight. I already know my food diary dont look good. Missed a couple of days as the galbladder was killing me as I do get galstones so I have to lose slowly I was told. But my husband is trying to gain weight. How do you make a meal that benefits both of you? This is becoming very stressful.

Make meals with a large amount of lean protein. Fish and Chicken are king for this. They will benefit you both, as it is pretty difficult to get "too much" protein for either of your purposes. As long as your carbs, fat, sugars, and total calories are in line, you should be good.

    PORTION CONTROL!

Make a healthy meal. Measure what you eat. You eat less, he eats more. BOTH of you eat healthy! (My husband is trying to bulk up too). Lots of protein will help your man, and if you do some strength training and build a little muscle yourself you will become a fat burning machine!!!!

    Good luck!

You can eat the same things, just different portions. There is no need to cook different foods; it's a matter of calories. He may need a few more snacks during the day and larger portions at meals, but there's no need to fill the house with tempting "weight gain" foods for him! You and he can both get results with the same foods.

Honest....I make two meals for dinner...One for my family and one for me. It is stressful, but Im committed to lose this weight. Protein meal shakes help me also for breakfast and or lunch....just count calories and dont go over and get the right foods. Im sorry that I couldnt help more.

My husband is trying to gain weight too well muscle. He increases his carb intake by drinking whey protein powder and he eats more calories than I do. Especially on the weekend. At first it was hard but I had to do what I had to do - I'm trying to lose so when I cook . . . it's healthy - he can have double the portion or buy his own calorie busting snacks. It's a true test of my willpower to have all of this stuff in the house but my mind just cut on like a lightbulb. Mind over matter! It's all about ME! That's how you have to think and become. It took me a while to wake up and realize that this is my journey to be healthy and lose weight.
