Something SO embarrassing happened

I dyed my hair a reddish color Tuesday night and took yesterday off from working out. Well this morning I go to the gym at my usual 5 a.m. and start working out. I do a 4 mile run on the treadmill, 25 min on the elliptical and go downstairs to the stair-master, which has mirrors in front of it. I start it up and then look up, OMG the dye is running down on my WHITE shirt. I'm a sweater too and had burned like 800+ calories already. It looked like I was sweating pink! I almost just turned around to go home but, I figured everyone had already seen so I might as well do my 20 min on the stair-master, but how friggin embarrassing

Ha, glad to hear things like that happen to other people! :laugh:0

OMG did you wash it yet. It must not be a permanent dye. I know you must have been shocked. Wash it and condition it a couple of times to make sure it stops running.0

At least you didn't pee yourself, puke, or pass out on an exercise machine. I am sure they've seen worse. Imagine wearing a home tie-dyed shirt to the gym and sweating color all over the place, even the floor, then taking your shirt off, only to realise your skin is looking very rainbow-like. I saw it happen to a guy at the gym a couple of years ago and he was so embarrassed, but no one really cared. Some other guy said "Yeah, you look like a clown, but no worse than every other day. Now suck it up and get back on the bike!" Seriously, it's not that bad. Maybe next time, you should let someone professionally dye your hair, though. I almost ruined our carpet after dyeing my hair black for Halloween last year (and then doing a workout in the living room and sweating purple down my neck), and we just had this carpet installed. Never again.0

You poor thing!
I'd tell you what happened to me in Vegas..and right afterward but 'tis far more embarrassing LOL0 -
Ha! The same thing happened to me and a friend of mine once - we dyed our hair then the next day we went to an amusement park. All was well until we got soaked on the log ride, then the dye began running down the back of our shirts. We just joked that we now had "racing stripes" and went on about our day. Things happen and who really cares what others think?0

I've been dying my hair since I was 13,..so about 15 years now. I'm a SAHM and can't really afford to pay someone a ton of money for something I can do at home. Even they don't always rinse it well. Red dye just lingers for such a long time. I should have known better and wore black!0
