So Im going out to lunch today to a Vietnamese restaurant. Were are going to Pho Van they are known for having giant bowels of soup with noodles and veggies. I usually get something similar to that, its the vegetarian bowel. its like the soup but without the "soup" part. Mostly noodles, veggies and tofu and it comes with some fired egg rolly type things. I looked here and on the website and could not find a nutrition guide. So Im wondering if anyone knows how many calories are in it, or can let me know were I can find that information.

Thanks :flowerforyou:

You can search in the food database under 'pho' and under 'vietnamese fried rolls' and a lot of items come up! Good luck!
(And enjoy - SSLLLUUUURPPP! )

Edited: Go to FOOD tab, then Database...

Mmmm, I loves me some Pho! Yes, a few things come up if you just search pho. Click around till you find something close.

I would skip the fried rolls and get spring rolls (those aren't fried) instead if you must.

A bowl of noodles and veggies that's stirfried is going to be higher calorie than true Pho, which is broth with noodles and veggies/meat. I'd go with the soup, personally. Going to have some myself today as a matter of fact! Yum!

I agree, go with the soup. I love viatnamese food and they cook with lots of veggies and fresh stuff, so it is healthier than any chain restaurant would ever be!!!
  • Its not fried its just cooked noodles with fresh veggies like basil and bean sprouts. Ill probably skip the rolls. Hmm I cant seem to find anything that matches. Its called Bún Chả Giò Chay (vegetarian crispy rolls & tofu) but has noodles lol

    Pho is damn good.

On a side note, a long time ago it irritated me to hear the 411 representative schooling me on how to pronounce it as "FUH"...I know how to say it, b*tch...I just prefer to say it without the Viet accent. Just had to get that out there. I'm done. Continue with the soup topic.

There is a lot of variation in the calorie counts I've found online for beef pho (what I always order). I don't eat the noodles in my pho (they give you what seems like an entire pound of pasta in there) and instead focus on the meat, veg and broth.

Based on what you eat, give it your best guess and then add a few calories just for good measure.

I usually charge myself 200 for the meat and call it a day, but that's just how I roll.

dont forget that the soups are sodiumlicious! so ask the waiter if the chef can limit the oils and salts when making your soup..(tell him you are allergic or something loool) little changes go a long way! and dont forget to drink water like a fish tto couteract the inevitable sodium .:)

you can also look under Summer rolls for something closer? and maybe add in cellophane or rice noodles separately?

not saying you need to be OCD - but for me it's easier for find something kind of similar and then 'Quickadd' some extra just to be covered...
  • I added 450 and I think that should be enough to cover it... :ohwell:
  • There's a place up in here in Washington called 'Pho King.' No joke.

I don't have an answer to your question, but I just wanted to say that I LOVE PHO VAN!! There isn't anything on the menu that I don't like. *sigh* I have a craving for lemongrass chicken now. I guess my peach yogurt will have to suffice.
