I'm having trouble planning out meals for the week, since I've been dieting. I have a family of three so, I'd like to keep it healthy but still delicious! Thanks!

I would recommend subscribing to either or both Cooking Light or Eating Well, and also looking for Ellie Krieger recipes on Food Network (or buying her books). The mag subscriptions are really pretty inexpensive.
You can also scour the Cooking Light and Eating Well websites but I find that more overwhelming than looking at a magazine issue, unless I am looking for something specific.
I think you will find a lot of great recipes from these places to feed families, and many will be budget conscious. These are the main 3 sources for my dinner planning. I cook 5-6 nights a week and plan menus for a week at a time.0 -
Try the Chicken Pot Pie Recipe on the back of the Bisquick Box.... super yummy0

I used to always have problems. What I do is make a list of grains, meat, veggies, dairy, fruit, etc. And pick one or more from each list and usually always can create something healthy. For instance choose whole grain pasta, lean ground beef, zucchini, low fat cottage cheese, peaches. You have an entire meal and you can get creative by mixing it all together, or just miking some of the things. You will also make sure you are cooking a balanced meal for your family!0

If you can get the cookbook "Eating for Life" by Bill Phillips that would be a good start. It's what we use. All the recipes are really good and healthy. It also has information on how to eat healthy and talks about different myths of healthy eating.0

My favourite is
Chicken breast, green beans, carrot batons and new potatoes with a garlic mushroom cream sauce (milk, garlic, finely chopped mushrooms, pinch of chives salt and black pepper and a heaped tablespoon of flour to thicken sauce works out at about 75 cals per serving) I've just made this tonight at my kids request0 -
Also, whoever is old enough can choose one of the items as well...my kiddo is too young but i'm sure when he is older and able to choose he will be more likely to eat the meal....0

A great cookbook is Prevention Magazine's Flat Belly Diet Family Cookbook....all of the meals are about 400 calories! Kid friendly too!0

Also suggest Oxygen Magazine and Clean Eating Magazine0

Veggie kabobs. I roasted red, yellow and green peppers, chopped up the peppers and some onions and instead of meat I used mushrooms. I broiled on high for a couple minutes on each side, oh and I brushed them with bar-b-que sauce. For my family I added chunks of steak to the skewers that I had marinating overnight in olive oil and a little salt a pepper. fYI, 3 veggie kabobs is about 300 calories minus the bar-b-que sauce ofcourse that was 45 calories per serving which was 2 tbsp.0

does this flat belly diet cookbook provide information as far as serving size and the amount of calories in the recipes, and have you personally used this and got results?0
