Hi,
When I started working out last month I started spotting about 4 days before my usual period, then it came as normal. Now this month I am about 6 days before my usual start...Is it normal for somebody to have spotting from working out and being on BCP's??
Should I be worried? This is my last month of being on the pill for a break..
Thanks in advance for your advice/thoughts..:)

I know birth control pills do wacky things to your period but all I know is periods get lighter when you workout. That's what I noticed. It may just be the combination of the 2! lol0

Exercise can totally change a ladies period, so it is possible; however, I would rule out pregnancy first and speak with your doctor before thinking it is just exercise.0

It could be a number of things. I'd call your OBGYN office and talk to the nurse line and see what they suggest.0

Working out can do wonky things to your period. However, you said you were taking a break? As I've been told, if you're going off BC for a specific reason (Dr. recommendation, TTC, etc.) then it's fine. But it's not good for your body to go off and on BC because then your hormone levels get all wonky and things like spotting can occur more frequently. Just something to keep in mind, or research more on your own.0

When you start working out, your body gets flustered and confused, whenever I take a break from exercising and then re-start, I know my cycle gets all messed up.0

Do you take the type of BCPs where you do not have your period? Where you skip the sugar pill week? If so, that can typically cause spotting (as it does with me). And I have def. noticed my periods being unusual since starting to work out.0

thank you for the replies! I will check in with my dr. I am on Aviane 21's. The reason I wanted to take a break from them is b/c I get super moody/grumpy on the first week of them, and then weepy the next week...its frustrating. I'd rather not go off it but I wonder if I should try a lower dosage...we'll see. I was just wondering if it was normal to start spotting after working out on a daily basis..:ohwell:0
