Hello everyone,

I have used myfitnesspal numerous times in the past for short periods of time. Since the beginning of January I have been committed to sticking with a life change and maintaing this change permanently. I have lost 22 pounds since the beginning of January and I have a lot more to go. I am proud that I have stuck through it thus far because this is the most thatIi have lost in many years. I want to develope even better eating habits and become stronger in my healthy lifestyle. Please add me or contact me because I belive that this is a long, hard road and with support we can do it together.

You've made one of THE best decisions of your life! :-) I'm there with ya! Finding this site truly has inspired me to well, firstly, realize that my weight was out of control. I log on every day to find encouragement, ideas and knowledge on how I can make me the best me, yet!

I'm beginning to see that it's ONE DAY AT A TIME! Each day, DECIDE you want better, DECIDE to FOCUS on your goals then DECIDE to do it all over again the next day! :-)

That's what it takes!!! One day I realized I just had to be more stubborn than the fat, and used that perspective to change my whole approach to weight loss. When you're determined you WILL make it happen!

This is a great tool if you use it consistently. I was stalled in my journey but once I started using the logs. I realized I was getting sloppy with my food choices through tracking. Stick with it and while it won't be easy, you can be successful.

Really inspiring and very true. I have been logging in everyday but today is my first day not using it on my phone. I love the fact that I get so much more information, encouraging stories, ect. I know this is a long road and I am looking at it one day at a time as well. Thanks for the advice and stay in contact.

GOOD FOR YOU!!! I'm glad you are so determined to lead a healthy lifestyle- I wish I had that much determination. I am such a push-over when it comes to food and exercise even when I know that I am predisposed to diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure, etc. I look at food and have no disciple- i need to train myself to think about what I want to eat and how it will detract me from my ultimate goal of being healthy. I need to motivate myself to get off my lazy butt and get moving! Even if it is to take a 30min walk around my apt bldg.

I will take your determination as a goal that I should achieve. I will think to myself, "I will be as determined as celebrityami, I will take life by the balls and show no mercy!" I want to be healthy and happy, and I WILL BE HEALTHY AND HAPPY!!!!!!

I use the log almost religiously. I plan my food for the next day, at least until dinnertime and know exactly what I can or can't substitute. I use the log to figure everything for me - it's the best tool ever. My husband is using a paper log and often figures out at the end of the day that he's going over. I keep trying to get him to use MFP, but he's stubborn... one of these days he will understand... or he will hit his plateau.

    Good luck on your journey.

LOL! Go for it! I have the funniest conversations with myself on this stuff, like today when one of my coworkers walked in with a big box of Krispy Kreme donuts and set them on the table in the breakroom with a cheerful invitation to "Help yourself!" Oh. Yeah... no. LOL! I swear every time I had to walk past those donuts I heard something like, "Resistance is futile. You will be assimilated into a big fat doughchick..." And there was some kind of tractor beam locked onto my hand, dragging me towards dietary death by donut. I had to grab one hand with the other and spin myself around and haul hiney outta there - laughing at myself the whole way. I'm such a goofball.

You can meet some really fun people on here, and it's interesting to cruise through different food diaries, and see what people are doing and look at the results they're getting. I think watching "friends" working on the same process really helps keep it in perspective, too.
